Average age is about 24 years.

(Note that these ages are the age each player will be at the conclusion of this season. So, this probably isn't too helpful.)

None of them has been at the club more than 18 months and all of them are showing heaps!

Two more years like that and...

I'm really starting to love this club again...

Early days and I don't want to partake in these premature celebrations... but it's definitely exciting times.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of average age and games played for the Carlton teams in the first 4 rounds last year to this year...

SOS has recruited more 1st XVIII players in 2 seasons than Wayne Hughes would have in 8 seasons.

Loving that Bolts isn't afraid to play the kids, and so far, they all look like they belong at senior level.
Such a refreshing approach, and one we ve never experienced before, as the last time we tried to 'rebuild and had a plethora of early picks, we had the two clowns Pagan and Hughes in charge and were pissing picks away on duds like Russell, Bower, Hampson, Grigg, Hartlett etc.

Take Simmons out of that team and replay him with Byrne and the average age drops to about 16.

As I mentioned, I suspect those are their ages at the start of 2018 but what it does highlight is the impact poor drafting/trading has on your list.
The huge gap is the ages of 22,23,24,25 and 26. The prime peak for many footballers. We have 3 players out of the listed 22 in that 5 year range. 2 of the 3 have been traded in from other clubs.

Does my head in. How can some bust their guts and get overlooked while others play 3 successive games like he has and keep his spot? I don't know the stats from last weeks game but he turned the ball over direct to the opposition 3 times by foot that I can remember. Abysmal game.

4.00pm I believe. Gates 3 and 7 open at 4.00pm which makes it a bit difficult to see the start. :?

Cheers Blue Vain..
Hard to believe that,
Williamson, SOJ, Weitering, Charlie, SPS, McCreadie, Fisher, Pickett, Plowman and Marchbank all lining up tomorrow and playing good team footy.
Just need McKay to get a few games under his belt..
I will give Bolton credit for playing the kids and beating Essendon*....

I like the fact that Bolts isn't afraid to play the kids and leave them there if they're doing the job, I won't be surprised to see some of them come in and out as I don't think he will burn them by playing them for a full season if they're not quite up to it, the Middle and lower tier players are now under the pump for their spot every week, nice to see depth developing, good list management.
Given the list of uncontracted players I think the likes of Liam Jones and a couple of others will be shown the door at seasons end, hopefully we are putting a list together that will see us finally recover from the dark times and be a strong side for the next 10 to 15 years

To paraphrase our great Prime Minister Bob:

Anyone who is a Carlton supporter who doesn't turn up to see 7 teenagers play, is a bum

Those who analyse and criticise on a TV, unless they are infirm or not in the state, can, well, shut up.

If you love your club and live in Melbourne, how can you decide to stay home and watch it on TV?

I get it last weekend but, really?

Should be a poll here concerning those who actually go because I sadly suspect that the loud mouths don't even go to the footy- sorry about no punctuation but its a rant

I'm at another engagement, but against an interstate side it would be a great opportunity to fill a venue with navy blue.

Unfortunately, something tells me those days won't come until we're a top team again.

It inspired me to book the family pass next week in Adelaide! All booked seats basically gone and only GA left.
