That last 15 minutes hurt. Our transition into our forward 50 is awful. Hate to be a forward.

We need to win the ball to have a chance, Sydney have simply beat us up in the midfield so far. A very professional team who is in top form.

Effort is mostly there, we just can't sustain it and not stuff something up every few minutes.

Something that has been an issue for a long time is our positioning. Two players go the man with the ball and leave an oppositon player free, happens all the time.

It's happening a lot less, but when Rowe smashed into Docherty's prior-to-guaranteed intercept marking opportunity and spilt the ball at CHB and they scored, that was costly.

Lost our nerve at the end of that quarter, when steadying in the final 5 minutes, slowing the game down and constructing two goals against the flow would have put us just 15 down at the break.

Instead we took risks with tired legs in a tall side and we're down 38 points.

I agree.

We should have just constructed two goals.

We'd be in a better position if we'd done that.

Sakc!

I love sam rowes heart.. But that's all I love!
Maybe 3 or 4 goals came from his errors. The headless chook defence game style don't work.

I've always said the goalposts at Princes Park are not to AFL standard, we should build new ones that are.

:P

What I'm saying is we are capable of slowing the game down, similar to what we did against Richmond. We didn't, and it blew out.

Before that final burst, the swans had scored 6 of their 8 goals direct from stoppages, so we were in control of open play for the most part.

2 goals in 5 minutes of time on is a low expectation; just needed to play a patient game.

Cecil 100% correct, we are being outclassed, not out worked. Sydney are a quality outfit and they are making us pay. I don't think there will be many games where we will be as comprehensively smashed around the contest as we are today

For mine, Cripps is a lone hand doing the grunt inside work. Often against 2 and 3 Swans. Our midfield nowhere to be seen. That's a mindset and workrate issue IMHO.
