Its the easiest draw they have had in years
Cant see any reason to complain
Still wont make the 8

Yep, just looked it up on Hawthorn's site.

Hawthorn play double ups only against top eight teams next year....only team they play outside the top eight twice is the 13th placed team - Carlton.

Yep, that makes sense.

Good on the AFL on that one - mark down two losses there.

I reckon the Blues could have made 7th-8th with a better draw.
Something like

two games vs St Kilda, two games vs Melbourne, two games vs GWS, two games vs Collingwood, two games vs Richmond.
And for those that are saying...you have to play the best to beat the best etc etc...the aim should be to make the lower reaches of the finals in 2015 and with a better draw it could have at least been possible. Two games against Collingwood and Hawthorn makes it tough.

I'm glad we get to play Hawthorn twice. 2 cracks at the best team in the comp!! if we need to play Melbourne and St Kilda twice to get up the ladder, we're going nowhere!!

I think Collingwood will struggle next year - happy to be playing them twice.
Disappointing to be playing Essendon* only once for the first time in many years - just as they are about to be reamed.

I think I'm gonna regret saying this come Hawthorn. Any one I think it's good to test yourselves against the best. Getting a free ride into the finals makes into the Nth Melbournes of this world. Earning your way into finals turns you into the Hawks and Sydney's.

cant really complain, we had to play 1 team in the top 4 atleast twice and this will be the first time in a long time we are playing the hawks, usually its the cats, good test for us.
we get collingwood , richmond ,gws and brisbane who we have a great chnace to beat.

we cant keep playing geelong and st kilda every year , it has to chnage eventually

not many 6 day breaks, im happy with it

I'd rather play Geelong twice instead of hawthorn if I had to pick another top 6 team.

But other than that our draw fits the formula for a bottom 6 team.

In fact my reply to Trigg suggested we request an interstate fixture on a Friday night every year the week before we have a bye. Stay the weekend and make a real genuine attempt to build relationships with interstate members and attract new members. A four year rotation through Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth so that it becomes an "Olympic" like event in each city.

Won't happen. The club doesn't give a f$&%

I think it was similar with Geelong this year. We played them twice in a pretty short period of time.

If we aren't expected to make the 8 late in the season, the game will most likely be Saturday night.

I reckon it's better to play top sides more often.

Our first Haw game is after a six day break against Freo in Perth :banghead:

& what is it with us & the crows at the MCG? :?

KK will be happy they finally listened to him & gave us 2 games in Sydney.

I am relying on ASADA to ensure we play the Scum** reserves. Even with the most generous discounts penalties could still be applied for the first month of the season.
