Port Adelaide's recent adoption of 'Never Tear Us Apart' is @#$%&! awful, and if that's the way footy is going, count me out.
It wont last.
Just wait until they're back in struggle town and papering over empty seats - they'll quickly drop the whole farcical display when there's only 1000 people singing in the rain.

Yeah, that's what's wrong with modern footy today. Too many people singing..

Bob Chitty never sung a verse in his life. And now he's dead!

It's ok....there's other songs in the INXS catalogue at their disposal when the fans turn their back on Port Adelaide Friday night footy...

Doc Sherrin, that Hocus Pocus song was amusing. Never heard of them before.

Blues Brothers - Minnie the Moocher...easy to sing along to...and it was sung by the BLUES brothers and Cab Calloway.

I don't know how to tie it in with Carlton, but Eye of the Tiger would get the crowd going.

You might have to wait until the Brent Crosswell memorial match.

Saw that bloke play live once...shortly after the cassette went out at a local hotel...I think it needs to be re-worked when the players come on the ground...with smoke machines....sing-a-long on the big screen. Great tune.

Would we even be allowed to play it at Etihad and MCG?

It would be nice if we could be innovative and come up with our own ideas too rather than copying someone else again.

the more this goes on here, the more I reckon it could be more devisive than otherwise.
if it's something not universally embraced, it's gonna be a torment to those who go to home games regularly.
who gets to decide?
what if their taste is as pitiful as Andy D's?
note that there were lots of people who loved 'bat out of hell' in it's original state, and would not get why others loathe it.
I think Kochy fluked a widely loved song, even though some on here hate it..and I guess a few percent at Port do too.
I really don't see why you need a song that mentions any Carlton words..you need a really up lifting, go get em song, that does everything our club song lacks..even though we love it.
should have a great beat..and importantly (I think...) a great voice, or be instrumental.

I lean towards a classic song, already well known, and very hard to dislike...
nothing too obscure like half the ones I've posted, unless they are dead easy to learn and catchy.

no hideous vibratos..which rules out Fergal Sharkey, Joan Baez, and most heavy metal warblers.

No overdone fake aussie folk accents..

no crap cheap production..

I'm thinking along these lines..because it probably appeals to all ages, it has a great beat, and a great singer..and..it speaks to our club....get back up there!!!
it's just an example though, and i bet there are a fair few who don't like the Beatles either, so, really...impossible task.
