I think it was their replacement home game, the ones against us usually are.

Yes, it was. We were still badly outnumbered, only 49,000 there and we would have been lucky if 15,000 were our supporters.

Fans voting with their feet... but our incompetent board will see it as a crowd of 49,000 so let's move to the G

Id rather play anybody else ahead of him.
Both his AFL games this year have been pathetic!!!

People can smash Watson all they like. He's a kid completely bereft of confidence (and maybe ability and intensity)

But time and time again, Murphy, Walker and Touhy let us down this year. Focus on them rather Watson

So if Watson kicks that goal and we get momentum, we may have made the game closer. Watson may have even kicked another one with his confidence high. Who knows

Bottom line is he MISSED. Is he the only player to have missed from 30 out?

If we can turn Rowe into a backman, we can experiment with Watson in the forward line (and for more than 15 minutes)

I'd give him the last 10 games to play FF. Give Fev a short term mentoring/coaching contract to work with him intensely for the rest of the year

If you spent any time watching the Northern Blues you would know that he didn't deserve a game in the seniors. He struggles at VFL level. I doubt he has beaten any opponent at VFL level, so to give him time in the seniors is ridiculous. He has no competitive spirit and does not enjoy a contest. As a junior he got used to people giving way because he was bigger and has never had to work hard in the contest. Now he is learning that there are bigger, faster and smarter players who are competitive beasts and not afraid of his size. And until he overcomes this he will never be a player at any senior level.

I think they scored 3 goals from kick-ins after we scored a behind

I think we got zip after we kicked in

I thought all things considered, Rowe outpointed roughhead. Watson was on roughhead for 2 of his goals, and Rowe was only exposed in the footrace that went over the back in toward goal. Some of roughhead's service was impeccable and Rowe held his ground and spoiled or completely bodied roughnut outta the way and took the mark himself.

Rowe was in our best, and he probs had the toughest assignment of the night.

I agree. Good game by Rowe and he shows steady improvement. Happy to see him continue in the team as you know he will always give his all even if his skill level is average. Nice to see him start backing himself and taking some marks.

I see a lot of VFL and Watson is a good player at that level. Lacks the required athleticism and intensity for the AFL however.

Murphy's form has been pretty good this year. He's had a few really good games. The key is getting support from his teammates. Rather than having him being a 3rd or 4th midfielder, if his teammates laid a few blocks to free him up and unsettled his tagger then Murphy would dominate.

That's the biggest difference between him and Selwood, Ablett etc.

He's got a bit of Ben rutten qualities
Serviceable but with obvious limitations

Nothing better on a friday night after a hard weeks work than rugging up on the couch in front of an open fire and watching the game with nice drink. Throw in laptop and unlimited attempts to reverse mozz games in the TC match thread and it is heaven.

Hawks fans are loving it. Top 4 team, 2 flags in 5 years, life is a dream.
We are their bitches - 11 straight wins - they have our measure and it's party time.

Add the fact that whenever we play them & it's our "home" game they have reciprocal rights to the game. What gives? Are we missing out on gate takings?

Well said, Kezza. If I lived in in MEL then you'd attend every home game where possible. Good on you, stick strong (or fat).

Their members are compensated for playing home games in Launceston

God I hate their righteous yet thuggish, entitled white bread supporters.

I'm like you, I go every week regardless, I just can't help it!

Have you noticed that the Carlton members and even the Cheer Squad sections are never even close to full? We even always seem to have large numbers of opposition supporters sitting among the Cheer Squad. It's a bit embarrassing really.

One of my closest mates is a Hawks supporter.....he called around this week and wished me (Carlton) good luck......and .....meant it.

Nice people remain nice people no matter who they support.

Carlton fans are different to other clubs' fans. We're well rounded, erudite, eloquent, eccentric, excellent and other words beginning with 'e'.

In brief, we have broad, interesting and complete lives in comparison to the average football fan and as such find the idea of weekly attendance difficult to say the least.

When one is invited to dinner at Government House or the launch of a new Aesop store on an evening which conflicts with the "fixture" one must make a difficult call and unfortunately for the institution we all profess to love that may not always come down on the side of navy blue righteousness.

Which is not a situation that those following a team parading themselves in a uniform born of piss and poo should ever need to confront.

Might be harsh, but a captain kicks those goals.

He had a shocker last night

Murphy was under pressure and would have been tackled if he'd gone any further. Look at the replay.

I have noticed that too this year.
