Probably the week after too.

With Melbourne's lack of forward power, you'd go midfielder like Ellard.
With the Saints, we'd need to cover their small forwards

Aside from injury concerns, I say no changes.

From what I read no one in twos is going that well and no one in the ones is going that badly.

Stability is important.

I'd say Hampson's game could be one of the worst Ive seen by a Carlton player for a long time personally.

I just hope to see some like for like changes. I think we've finally found some reasonable onfield balance.

Gibbs is the only certain out, I'd replace him with Ellard or Bell. Possibly Menzel as the sub.

If Jamo is out, bring in Watson or McCarthy.
If Hampson or Rowe are dropped, bring in Casboult or Mitchell.

Good chance to hone the new gameplay under slightly less pressure. Good opportunity to play a kid as a sub too.

Scans have revealed that @BGibbsy4 has suffered a low-grade hamstring strain and will miss this week's Round 6 clash against @melbournefc.

Could this open the door for some like Collins or even Menzel to come in? Or do we bring back a hard-nut like Bell or Ellard?

Suggestion that Bell or Cachia were BOG for the Blues on the weekend. Ellard good also (and had a stellar first two weeks).

Conundrums!

Those wanting Menzel... relax... he's not going to be playing senior footy any time soon.

According to the Casey Scorpions Dawes kicked 2 but not named among the best... Dunn was best afield and might get a call up.

If Dawes plays, he won't be fit after 1 game in the VFL.

What sort of a half baked, soft cock effort is that?

You don't rate him. You've spent the equivalent of an academic essay telling us such, yet you come up with the equivalent of giving him one more chance.

Stick to your guns. It can only add to your crediibilty.

And don't give us this bullshit that MM has no one else to replace him with. If MM thinks he's not pulling his weight, he'll drop him.

IMHO, he's been one of MM's successes this year (and believe me, I'm not a glass half full person when it comes to Carlton)

Out: Hampson (omit) White (omit) Gibbs Jamo (if injured)
In: Mitchell (just give him a go at senior level), Laidler, Ellard/White or Watson (for Jamo)
One more chance for Rowe...Spend all week on ruck practice

Nothing soft cock in saying Ratten was a dud coach.. pretty sure people are realising that now.
And nothing soft cock about saying we have a Rapahel Clarke on our hands.
These things are not mutually exclusive.

Whats soft cock is accusing me of making soft cock remarks when you dont understand that

He was a dud

Agree - was the first thing a mate said to me after the game and I agree - I thought Cain Ackland was back on the list

Well Synbad ... thats your opinion ... not fact. Lots of people I know who are Carlton supporters equally have a different opinion to yours. As you know I am no a big fan of MM though I hope he does well. Anything other than a prelim will be a big fat FAIL for the so-callled super coach.

Good call Tech. I did think of Ellard, but dismissed him because of the form of the people whose spot he would be after. His form is good enough though. I humbly stand corrected.

I didn't see Saturdays game, but apparently Hammer stunk it up. I still wouldn't drop him though. Give him another one or two games and if he continues to play poorly then bring the best replacement in -- and tell his replacement he has three or four weeks to prove himself. (Unless it's Waite, in which case it most likely depends on either the medical room or the tribunal  ).

I've got nothing against team changes - I'd just like to slow the process down a bit, get rid of the knee-jerk reaction whenever someone plays a bad game. Most players play better football if they don't feel that they're gone if they make a mistake.

Best thing they could do is rush Dawes back after he's played 1 competitive game in 10 weeks.
Dont think even Melbourne could be that stupid.... Could they ??

Mitch Clark I reckon will be back though.

Watch the replay ...
Lucas did well, has continually improved and is not "in the gun".
You're summary of all our players in the VFL lost all credibility after that comment.
Lucas is quick, hard working and skillful.
He need a bit more polish and stronger tackles but thats it.
He is in no danger of being dropped

Pity you missed the points that he doesn't engage in any body contact and is the turn over king in the team...

Other than that, yeah he has done ok...... :donk:

i dont care what your blue rinse old dears think up at the social club.

Ratten wont ever coach an AFL side again as main coach... and that says it all.
We kept him for 5 years and 6 games.. and in the end people think it was injuries that lost him his possie as coach..
in fact after we knock of Melbourne this week if im not wrong MM has already equalled or almost equaled the Ratts streak of 3 or 4 in a row....

If Rattens name was Knights he would not have been the coach let along coached for 5 years (and dont forget the six games).....

We still have no real leadership or standards.. supporters point to the smallest things to crack a fatty....

I am looking forward to this club holding everybody who has anything to do with the club to some kind of REAL standards....And that means EVERYBODY!!!....

Ratten never cared about standards.... he cared about statistics... but he didnt know how to use those stats in any meaningful manner.

10 hbfers playing in our reserves sums the guy up.......id be kicking chunks out of our recruiting group if they continued to come to me with hbfer types year after year...

farcical thinking and an sbsolute id of a man....

Players never took the quantum leap to the next level under him...

yeah its my opinion.. but them are the facts!!!

lately im getting angry at the lack of accountability around the club.... every level is R.S.

President who people are wondering how they will push him out.. (and there are people trying believe me).. second rate CEO... no leadership.. players that go away without coming abck having done any real work on their deficiencies.. (Thats not everyone... but a few including some well paid senir players)...and i dont wanna see anymore girlie tackles!!!...show that theyre fair dinkum!!!

Terrible habits over the years that have not been addressed.
