I always thought the idea was to win the game and thats what we did. We were challenged in the last quarter and withstood that and won quite well in the end. I naturally expect us to improve over the course of the season but we could have been 0 and 5 instead of 2 and 3.

That's all a bit sensible mots.

Please ban yourself for a week and only return when you've written off the careers of at least 6 people.

Maybe our effort to hold off a urging Crows wasn't so bad.

This. Seems that putting teams to the sword after getting a big first half lead is harder than it used to be, plenty of big comebacks this year already.

We dont care what other teams do and dont do... we are focussed o nly on what we need to do.

Footy is a ruthless sport..

As you know Synners we're coming from a fair way back. You know things are changing and you should know it will take time. Believe it or not I do often agree with you. I do remember when we were ruthless when the likes of Harris, Lofts & co were running the show. Times change and we have taken a long time to adjust but I think we are on the right track now. You probably know more about the workings of the inner sanctum than I do. If MM can't sort out the football department side of things I don't know of anyone else who can.

Will take a 5 goal win against Adelaide any day of the week.
Taylor Walker going down early helped.
We have alot of work ahead of us, the lack of a marking forward is an ongoing problem.
Hampson and Rowe struggled, Lucas is a terrible kick.
Great game by Walker again, McLean was very good.
Good to see Eddie back.
Garlett is having a great year, good to see.
We looked tired in the last quarter and got a bit worried, understandably coming back from Perth.
Good win, go Blues.

Relax and have another bottle of red Synners

Everyone knows players will get cut comes seasons end.

The list managers may even do it without wetting the bed.

Hampson is an '88 baby...taken in November 2006...he was 18 like the others. Tippett is a year older and had a similar background but played basketball. I'm not sure if we blame individual, recruiter or development. But I do know that Shaun Hampson shouldn't be on an AFL list. A bit like James Sellar taken three picks earlier.

I thought he turned twenty by the time the season started but I was one year out. I think that was in a year where you could draft seventeen year olds, that's probably why I got my wires crossed. Anyway, I think there are others even more dubious than Hampson on our list.

What's that supposed to mean? People can have an opinion and not have an opinion and things will all work out the same in the end? :? Jeez - can I go to one of your seminars on how to be a fatalist? :banghead:

Apart from the first qtr a bit of a nothing game. Crows are an ordinary outfit without their two key targets from last year. People are tough on Hammo. He is a ruckman, not a fwd. Play Warnock at full fwd and Hammo in the ruck for 75% of the time and see how he goes. It is not Hammo's fault, it goes back to us overinvesting in first rucks and underinvesting in key fwds. Altho rumours of Hammo's great athleticism have been greatly exaggerated. I see very little evidence of his great pace, and he is very unco. Waite will make a difference if he can string more than a few games together. Tuohy is looking good and cd become a gun midfielder. McLean continues to prove me wrong (altho we cd have got him for way less than we gave up). Warnock dominated the ruck contests, but is yet another tall player who never takes an overhead mark. I think Lucas is going okay, but needs to be a better kick. Andy Otten looked more dangerous than our 2 key fwds. Walks is in stellar touch. People forget he had several seasons wrecked by shoulder injuries. He has enormous talent and it is interesting to see how MM is using him. The future doesn't look great for either Laidler or Duigan at this stage. Love to see Dylan B get a few more games, but there are a long line of small fwds in front of him. Be interesting to see how other sides play us from now on.

I wd have taken a 5 goal win before the game, but at qtr time it was heading for a thrashing. We have a series of easy games before we get a real handle on where we are.
