Finally you're speaking my language Blue Sombrero!!!!
As for you redback, i have no idea what you are getting at or what you are addressing.... so i'm not really sure where how to respond.
If you think that a half fit Yarran is the best thing for the team then we simply disagree on the fundamentals of a team sport.
To me, you want all your players giving 100% for as much of the game as possible. Chris Yarran cannot do that at that for an extended amount of time at the moment. So again, for the teams sake, we had to start him as the sub.
Most likely wont be the sub this week. But if he is it's because he's not fully fit yet. Remember how long it took Sandilands to get over his toe injury....came back then missed a few then came back and was never really 100%. We are nursing Yarran through this.
Again, my point is/was lets not just shoot the MC and Ratten for every little thing because it suits us at the moment. Yes we are in trouble, and yes a lot is not going right, but we have to be rational some of the time......
I'll try and explain what I mean Professor.
You can utilize a player like Yarran with his skill and current rate of fitness in a couple of ways.
You can use him as spare man in defence where he can go by himself and prolong his endurance base and can break the lines.
You can leave him deep in the forward line and release Garlett or Betts further up.
You can plonk him in the center and use him as a link between HF and HB.
These are a few ways to utilize a player like Yarran and there are a couple of other ways but that would also depend on certain variable situations on game day.
If he's injured don't play him.
If he's got a extremly low fitness base don't play him.
If someone had gotten injured early on what would the MC had done?
