Please consider the science behind the apathetic effort out there today. The boys have had a return trip from Perth and a 'loading' training week. This is all about St.Kilda, so while some of the mistakes are inexcusable, there's method behind the madness.

Not going to be able to do this next year. This GWS outfit will not take too long to mature. SOS recruited smart footballers as well as skillful ones.

Doing the hard yard through the last few weeks on the track may well be the reason we are flat.

The next few weeks will tell the story. I am betting we have been getting flogged on the track knowing we will probably get the 4pts and then we will taper off and hit the ground running for the next month (similar to the bombers when they played terrible against port and GWS to then come out and play real well for the last 3 weeks).

Time will tell.

Did you notice we're in front?

You were expecting a 100 point win?

Poor skills, even poorer work rate and soft at the ball. A bunch of kids have smashed us in tight.

An indictment on all involved.

Our clearance/stoppage work continues to be a worry and defensively we are woeful. Not to mention how poor we are going into f50.

Training loads or mentally soft?

Never thought I'd say this, but they deserve the boos. Pathetic. Soft. Unaccountable. Lazy. Disrespectful.

Smashed in clearances and getting lessons from putting your head over the ball from a bunch of @#$%&! teenagers.

They hunt in packs and work as a team, we stand around waiting for someone else to do it.

They run and spread, we trot and chip (to contests).

They are thrilled to bits just to be playing AFL footy, we're waiting for our paycheque (and for Judd to come back, because this all seems too much like hard work).

If Ratts and/or Sticks aren't tearing strips off the wall at half-time, we have serious problems. This is unacceptable.

I've been impressed by their run and carry. We know they can play footy so if we give them space, they will use their skills. Our disposal by hand has been sloppy, leading to too many turnovers. All we need to do is tidy up a bit and we will win by 60.

yobbida, you dont understand, you cant criticise at all. When were bad, it is not our fault - it might be training loads, travel, injuries, blah, blah, blah
It is never attitude, or poor coaching or simply not being good enough. We are flag favourites, just give us the flag

Please get with the program...!

Don't think the players are mentally soft.

Saw your name and knew what your view would be.

Do you ever think beyond the scoreboard?

Doc and club29 have told you all whats happening out there.

Have a think about it people.

Agree with Doc, although the genius commentary will bang on about the "story" they want from the game - poor skills and minimal workrate is what even they are mentioning - no consideration of the workload we have likely been undertaking since Freo

clubs have been talking about training loads for a few years now so its definitely fact.

The evidence is there to prove clubs have been flat for periods throughout the year because they've loaded up on training to get them through the season.

I was expecting us to play to our game plan and be better in clearances and disposal efficiency. So far we haven't done that.

If it is true we loaded up on training to prepare for the Saints then we aren't taking it "one week at a time" and might have missed the chance to boost the all important percentage at the end of the season. Could be the difference between a home final and another interstate final or top 4 or not.

The coaches can't be happy with the performance in the 1st half.

but is it fact that we've been in extra heavy training the past week or 2 ?
