Essendon* allowed to play with loose men in defence when we had to win the game... wow!

The press too shallow and getting caught on the fast break time and time again...with no real sweeper.. wow!!..
Brock McLean the chosen impact player off the bench... wow!!!(Must have been really confident for this one)

just some of the weirdarama that was up on display today

Synbad and Keogh turning up after a loss......WOW!!!!

Only joking I expected you to turn up, tell us boys "what have been upto over the last few weeks?"

had easter x 2
and besides we played last years wooden spooner duo and a team on their knee.

Cant really crack a 'woody' unless youre tested and you pass Lily.
No joy in hubris with some flat track bullying...
I know you dont agree.. but this was a game that was a must!!...
Yes .. no???

I bet you told all your friends we were gunna wipe the floor with them.. right???

WOW!

What?....... did you tell those who would listen we were going to get beaten???

I think last week was a pass and this week wasnt, I dont need to gloat to people about victory thats for airheads, but I also dont need to get my rocks off being the lone voice in the wilderness declaring the "truth".

Fact is you play and beat who you up against and some weeks you come up short. Are we happy?.....no, but does it define our season?
I pretty sure even you wouldnt put your marbles on the line!!!!!!

Your predictability is the same as the media, I had a chuckle at half time thinking you would show up and wondered what pearls you had for us tonight!!!

I bet you thought you were a little more avant garde than that didnt you!!

Guys can we stick to opinions on the match, you're starting to stray into a territory where I have to edit posts and treat you like misbehaving children.

Watson you couldnt counter.
Stanton you could.

These two guys in particular set that loss up for us

2nd qtr was the killer with those 2 - if the MC don't learn from that they never will

The list of things we hate seeing against Essendon*:
- Them cutting us up on the rebound without getting touched
Check
- Watching injuries occur to important players
Check
- Watching smug pricks like Davey and Monfries cutting us up
Check
- Watching them benefit from bullshit free kicks and 50m penalties
Check
- Our guys going half-arsed at the ball carrier and missing tackles
Check
- Our guys panicking with the ball in hand and getting caught
Check
- Our guys missing easy shots on goal at crucial times
Check
- Our guys waiting for the easy ball out the back while they hunt in packs and work as a team
Check
- Fletcher running around on his own, doing what he wants (and kicking a goal)
Check

I swear, it's like I stepped back into 2007-8, when these cocksmokers used to play keepings off for two hours and humiliate us. There is no excuse for today, nowhere this team can hide. It was pathetic, it was soft, it was lazy, it was dumb, everything we'd thought we'd grown out of by now. We played right into their hands and made a bunch of soft-cock, diving, overrated hacks have their way with us today for two hours. We stood and watched while they ran in packs, we panicked with the ball in hand while they were confident and slick, we had to fend off 3-4 of them every time we had it while they had all the time and space in the world.

Everyone should be accountable for this effort today. The players, and the coaches. Forget about premiership favourites and enough with the "We're not getting over-confident" bullshit. This team still has mental issues, and our gameplan has been revealed as flimsy for all to see. Another effort like this and we'll be back to the downhill-skier tag we fought so hard to work beyond. This was a regression, a step back to when we were shite. The challenge is on the team to respond, and if they want to be as good as they think they are, they'd better respond breathing fire, because they would've lost a lot of believers today.

This one hurts, this one hurts bad. Of all the times for bad Carlton to emerge, it had to be against an undermanned ("brave") scum outfit with nothing to lose....AGAIN. Right now these cocky arseholes are laughing at us, and boy oh boy did we set ourselves up for it. Of all the supporters who deserve to revel in our failures, these smug pricks deserve it less than anyone. But we've given it to them, AGAIN.

After a loss which is like taking candy from a baby.

They rolled us didnt they, did they play better than they should or did let them win???

Footy just happens to bring these games up every year, to every team!!!

The team with the better list/team/players lost and the underdog won, as I said I dont think it defines the season, but certainly shows we are not premiers and have a lot of work to do.

It does suck though that the bombers beat us...............I hate when that happens!!!!

would still rather read his post loss reviews than the hero's potting him or calling him out after a win

Look Keogh it wasn't a great performance but your player assessments are all off IMO. Bower & Brock should not be getting the treatment they are at the moment from some.

You love Brock Jimmae. Actually he tried hard and wasn't the worst but he is way too slow, when he was on the move and had the ball put down his throat he dished it off to someone flatfooted because he has no pace. Did you see him chasing Crameri? Crameri is a big key forward but he easily ran away from Brock. Brock chased hard but could put no pressure on him. It is not Brock's fault but we are paying him $300k, traded the chance to draft Fyfe or Bastinac or Duncan or Menzel or Gunston or Sam Reid etc to get him and his lack of pace makes him a liability. It is the sort of recruiting decision that can cost a flag. Not his fault he was not dreadful today but will he be in the side next week, why pick him to replace a pacy player like Armfield, can he fill the Carrazzo role? His pay per AFL game would be higher than Juddy's, a bad bad decision by Ratts and O'Reilly to get him. And any game he plays just means the oppo has a guy who can run around without worrying about his opponent ever being able to catch him.

had family commitments today so did not watch it but some people around here really need to get some reality, its a football game and anyone can win with odds of $8 or not, sounds like to me we had a filthy day, and we lost , it happens, thats life

one thing is for certain there are about 4-5 teams i think can win the premiership and injuries and right timing of form is the key , round 4 loss means nothing and the thing i really hate is people posting in here after a loss to tell everyone i told u so , seriously @#$%&! off

Anyone mid table and above can beat us if the intensity isn't there. Happens to Premiership teams, just look at Geelong around round 17/18 last year.

What was the last positive thing you've posted?

Why didn't we hear last week how easy it was going to be to roll Collingwood?

AJ?
Where were the calls for AJ before today?
As for our bottom 6, last week we had the best bottom 6 in the game, this week they're the worst.
The truth is our ruckmen dominated last week and they were taken apart today. As a consequence, our midfielders were reactive. Throw in a superior workrate by the Bombers and we were always in trouble.

We need to work out how to function when the opposition put players behind the ball. Its been a thorn in our side since early 2005. Essendon* killed us on the counter attack. To score from 2 out of every forward 3 is almost unheard of. It's not so much the fault of our backs but the inability of our forwards/mids to apply pressure on the transition.
Lots to work on.
