On form we beat Melbourne, the rest doubtful.

Same problems as last year coming to the forefront, can't beat good teams and injuries starting to mount.

It's about time we caused an upset. Last time was early last year when we beat Geelong & St kilda.

Would be nice to beat Freo over there or the Dawks

We're going to need to do both, Chubby. Play players in their correct positions and we might be in with half a chance.

The HUN has a ladder predictor, has us finishing 5th with 13 wins, a draw and 8 losses. So, only winning 2 more games. If this is correct we play Fremantle in the first week of the finals and if we happen to win then likely to play WCE in Perth. :banghead:

Who cares what the little paper predicts? They probably had us 10th preseason, then Sheahan had us 2nd midseason.

The Herald Sun (Sam Edmund) forecast us preseason at finishing between 4th and 6th....(I've got the books)

The Age had us finishing at: Robert Walls....8th....Garry Lyon....10th....Matthew Lloyd....7th..........

Beat Essendon* this week and West Coast lose to Freo and things are looking OK again.
With Jamo & Waite back I'm confident we'd beat the Hawks.

Bombers win
Kangas win
Melbourne win
Freo win just
(start heavy training loads)
Hawks lose
Bye
Saints (win or lose depending on Saints situation and our strategy with fitness)

Not sure where that has us finishing. Hopefully in 4 but if not its not the end of the world because we will be fresh, fit and pumped.

Spot on Mick. Our fate is in our hands from now on.

If we only win 2 games from here on it doesnt really matter where we finish.

It is (for the Bummers  ) and it isn't for the other teams.

We generally play Hawthorn, North and Freo only once a year and over the last 10 years it's only been in the last 3 that we haven't been a bottom side.

Apart from the risk of drawing the Eagles in week 2, is there that much difference between finishing 5th or 4th? If the Eagles finish 4th, we are likely to win our first final then play the loser of 2 v 3 (I think) and the winner of 6 v 7 plays the Eagles in Perth?

I'm sick of waiting for the finals to come around, lets just get out there with a fit team, raring to go.

Let's not talk up the Eagles TOO much!

We were very flat that day, and undermanned.
Plus Judd got scragged atrociously. Still could have won it!

I know going to Perth is hard, but I almost think we play better there than Telstra dome!

As long as we don't have some kind of massive meltdown and finish 7th/8th with an interstate game in the first round, then I think we'll be ok.

Its much easier to win a premiership from the top 4 - but are fans really expecting to win it this year??? I think we have a shot, but I'll be pretty impressed if we make a prelim.
