Was it just me, or did the show barely cover our win?

I thought the same Sean, but it would be very difficult for Quaterbrain & Monga to wrap us up too much.

On the other hand, I can't remember us getting so many plaudits as we received OTC tonight

Young blueman has been saying Carlton Collingwood GF since early in he season.

last year he was talking about Judd for the Brownlow in round 9

I told him to keep a lid on it.

Bet the first thing they ask, especially if we lose this week, is how much would we like Josh Kennedy in our forward line :grin:

Great comments by the captain yesterdya, saying Cats have won 2 flags, Hawsk and Pies 1 in recent times, and we haven't even won a final, so we cannot be seen in same league. Good stuff by captain, sends message to the team that we haven't done a frikkin thing yet so let's not get ahead of ourselves

We have reached a certain high standard now, in ONE game, trick is now to sustain that intent, energy, class, for the next 5 years and if we're lucky a Premiership will fall out of that

Summary from what I can remember:

- We are a genuine contender;
- Remarkable impact Kruezer has made to the team in two weeks;
- Compared the Collingwood v Carlton best line ups and discussed the match ups;
- Discussed whether Waite should go forward or back when he returns;
- Discussed whether the WCE and Carlton would allow Yarran and Hurn to play loose in their respective backlines.

Wow, that sounds amazing. Already talking about Carlton v Collingwood matchups for a game in 4 weeks time! The media certainly are not putting a lid on it!!!

Sheehan said that the Kreuzer kid is 'special'. Roos and Healy agreed.
Roos was amazed in his size and the condition he's come back in. Kreuzer is huge, and plays ruck rover too.
He's the monster forward we've been missing.
They'd all be happy with either Warnock or Hampson taking 1st ruck, and relieved by Kreuzer.
Kreuzer is too hard to match in as a fwd.
So much for taking an extra year to get to AFL condition post knee reco

Also talked about Hendo as the CHF.
Healy is convinced we can afford to play Waite at CHB.
Sheehan believes we can fit them both in the forwardline.

Lined up Blues vs Pies Fwds, Mids & Backs.
It was obvious that apart from Jamo, we would have a problem covering both monsters Cloke and Dawe.
Sheehan had Jamo CHB on Cloke and TBird on Dawes.
Healy wanted Jmo FB and Waite at CHB.

Why aren't we looking at Cats vs Pies. It's because they are the benchmark.
Exercise was to see how Carlton personnel match up against Pies to determine if CFC are the real deal.
Yes they are. Blues can win it.

It was amazing to see a real in depth Carlton focus for the first time in 10 years. Couldn't stop grinning :grin:

I know we are the real deal.

Time to well and truely screw the lid back on

The way the season is panning out it we lose any more than 2 more we miss the top 4

As I have mentioned in another thread, 15.5 should be enough for top 4. West Coast still have to come to Melbourne 3 more times, could easily see them dropping games against St Kilda, Melbourne or the Doggies.

Hawks can lose games too.

But your point about the lid being placed back on is correct. Flag talk was premature, would need a lot of stars aligning to pull it off. Jamo being fit is one of those stars.

This is one of the BIG games Carlton plays regardless where the 2 teams are on the ladder.

Keep a lid on it? @#$%&! that.

We are going to smash these pricks on our way to the 17th flag.
Then we will have the Bulldogs for breakfast whilst we're priming ourselves for the Pies game without Jamo and Hammer.

We are still in this comp, and will play a part in the finals (something we couldn't say for almost 10 years).
If we have injuroes under control, I know Cordy will have us primed to smash all before us.

The only things stopping us from winning the flag this year is Injuries and Luck. That's it!
Prove me wrong.

agree that we can win it this year on exposed form.

We almost and should have beaten the Cats.
e were well beaten by Collingwood but have played much better footy since then and they haven't. They are in fact a bit hot and cold and have had a couple of frights in recent weeks caused by poor kicking and a few key outs.

If we get our best 22 on the park, which we haven't had for a while and IF we play our best footy, there is no reason we can't win it.
Anyone in the top 4 can win it.
The GF is just a contest between two teams who turn up on the day having won their way through.
After that it's on for young and old. Who dares wins and so on.

I'm taking the lid off! The rest of you can do as you please.

Next 6 weeks before the buy;

Richmond
Western Bulldogs
Collingwood
Essendon*
North Melbourne
Melbourne

All games will be tough as each team is fighting for a spot in the 8 with some coming into "good" form now, ie. Doggies!
How good are we? Well if we keep top 4 spot, we have earned it!
