The Fevola goal against Adelaide after the siren?

I can argue that was an Arrested Development reference in court, what about the rest? ;)

As old as the Hills, Benny Hill used a version of that joke (no pun intended).

No doubt at all that St Kilda turned up and set out to hurt us, physically pressure us and take all cheap shots they could. Its a pity that Montagna is the only one to get caught, but constant scragging, pushing over, head high tackles etc werent penalised - and this was just the first quarter.

This was Carlton standing up to a pissweak CLub with a pissweak ethos and coming through with the goods.

I'm very proud of the boys and as the other thread says St Kilda can suck shit. I hate their Club, I hate their pretend status and I hate that they pretend to be successful when clearly 110 years of ignominy and 3 lost GF's in a row tells me they are doomed to continue to be lifeless, history-less, nob fondling wankers and I cant stand the sight of them.

Cons : We probably had the ball in our forward 1/2 65% of the last 1/4. They outscored us 4.1 to 2.3. That sort of waste and inefficiency will be punished against Geelong and Collingwood certainly but even against Hawks, Freo, Sydney etc .
We were no better at dealing with the flood than against the Crows.
St Kilda forced us to pass to the 50 line or just outside it and then they covered the long bomb well.
We have to get into the 20-40m zone cleanly. Whether we just need another tall target or just better leading and forward co-ordination, I don't know. Scotand marking at the 50 then passing to Judd at 55m who then passed to nobody. Waite stubbing the ground. Betts streaming into the 50 and kicking for goal outside his range when he had Warnock and Walker available, Warnock not leading towards him but rather following Fisher back to the goalline where he marked the ball. Judd missing a gettable snap from 20m really badly, Betts missing a harder snap on his left but he had time, Gibbs skying a ball out of bounds from 15m.
This is our big weakness atm and other clubs know it and are exploiting it.

Clearly their 3 qt time chat annoyed TBird enough that he felt the need to jeopardise the game by being cute.

Back to the ressies with that attitude and STAY THERE.

I think that is unfair and not true. Setanta passed it to T-bird in the square. Then Setanta made space 30m ahead of him, but with a StK player 5m behind him. The pass was on, but if he miskicked or Setanta fumbled, that could have cost us the game. He did the right thing by kicking down the line IMO.
You have made a big leap by deducing that Thornton ignored him because he(T-bird) gave Setanta a spray at the huddle.

buzz I was basing my statement on the post above mine. If the play unfolded as you say, then I apologise to T-Bird unreservedly for my comment as he clearly kicked to avoid a turn-over - good team thinking.

But you don't know for sure.

I wasn't the only bloke who saw that. In fact I was on the mobile with someone at the game, and we both saw the opportunity.
But from the TV set it looked to me that he was ignored, and the panning of the camera showed more than 5 metres on either side of Setanta and I didn't see a Saints player in that vicinity.

I hope I'm wrong, but that's the way it looked to me and some others. You may be right. You may be wrong.
I hope I'm wrong because I love all our players on the list and I don't like what I thought I saw.

Go to the 29min mark. Setanta marks, passes to Thornton to Russell back to Thornton. Then on the wide shot, Setanta has a STK player 5m behind him who gets sheperded by a Carlton player as Thornton kicks. As I said, the kick was on but risky.

Agree with most of those bloopers, except for Gibbs, as I'm pretty sure he had to grab and kick it in the one motion as he was being tackled ??

Warnock just looked too knackered to do much after half time other than the ruck hit outs. He went to ground in one contest and took about 30 secs to get up. Maybe needs to work on his tank. He's normally pretty good dishing it off around the packs too.

Agree about Gibbs, but still OOB from 15m?? He kicked it 40m up, unnecessary effort into distance.

Warnock went to ground too easy in that contest. He was exhausted which is a concern because Setanta did help him out. Obviously McEvoy's instruction was to run him into the ground.

Believe it or not, but McEvoy's got the best 3k time of anyone on that St Kilda list. So as a ruckman, he's a bit of a freak in that respect.

Thought of McEvoy to be a bit of a dud to be honest. Watching him the other night, he can take marks overhead and does have a bit of a tank about him.

I got the impression that Judd fired up on the saints at quarter time because he is deeply offended by the way those saints animals treat women and the way they dragged the name of all AFL footballers through the mud last summer. It looked like he cracked it that he had to share a workplace with these animals and had to let them know how he felt. He went after Milne and said something that made Goddard flip his lid. Judd didnt look too fond of Gilbert either.

I think he said "maybe you and BJ's brother can share a cell"

Pfieffer against Fremantle at Etihad in 2009 (I think)?
