I'm shocked and appalled that people would use an irrelevant and harmless thing like a a membership slogan to push their own agenda of whininess.

Shocked. And. Appalled. :yikes:

If you think I'm referring to you specifically (which I actually wasn't), then it shows you've got a guilty conscience.

Sticks' boys club are rorting the process by continuing to bypass elections and just appointing their chosen ones.
Remember Harrison on here last year verballing Spartels for having the audacity to run for election and in his words 'wasting $50k of the clubs money'??
It's the Elliott way of doing things all over again!! ...I'll streak around PP if there's a nomination this year!!!
When someone's willing to ditch 'appointments' from the constitution, I'll join up and vote for him.
In the meantime why don't they fix the glaring deficiencies in the Comms and Membership depts???

These themes or whatever you want to call them are a joke.
No need to have them.
They are embarrasing.
Judd basically won the Brownlow because he is a champion and he was surrounded by passengers.
Thats why he stood out with the exception of Simpson and one or two others.

Blame generation Y.
By the way with a bloke like Judd no matter were he plays there will be players that get carried along by him. I do recall in his first game against WCE he happened to mentioned that to a few of his ex team mates.

The old generation Y chestnut. :garthp:
Followed by captain positive keogh attacking the club too.
Just to top it all off budzy pushing the same old barrow of shit.
Cool thread.

What's your interpretation of a passenger Jim?

I wasn't having a go at your interpretation at all BV, just Rexy's follow up. It certainly is a negative tact to take on the surface but handled correctly it's a uniting message. We'll have to wait and see.

However, in no way whatsoever is it a 'safe' option. None of these recent campaigns have been.

Yes it is a uniting message jim but in comparison to 'they know we're coming' and 'can you smell what the blues are cooking' it's taking a different tact. The earlier 2 were confident statements of expectant improvement which potentially left the club exposed to a backlash if that didn't happen. 'No passengers' doesn't exude the same confidence. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just different IMO.

I hope it means a total attitude, where everyone is expected to pull their weight and hopefully is a direct crack at those who didn't pull their weight last season, i hope this means a public airing of no tolerance for bludgers and when it is your turn to go you GO, if it is just a marketing ploy then it isn't worth a fanny full of cold water. I want the club to be fair dinkum about the slogan.

Big Footy must be going nuts that there is a new Carlton slogan to pick apart.

They can all eat shit & die, we will improve next year

I just rang the membership dept as i had to make some changes to my membership and while on hold (not for too long) i couldnt believe it when one of the recorded messages was "can you smell what the Blues are cooking, become a 2010 member now". Honestly you would think they may have changed the message for next years slogan.
Not good enough.

did you mention it to them when you came off hold?

lol, and in the process, vindicate the slogan.

carltons marketing slogan for the last 3 years have been nothing but a success. they are the most talked about slogans for living memory. i couldnt tell you the slogan for one other club in the last three years, but i beat you for love nor money, that every person who follows AFL, knows what Carlton's slogan has been for the last few years ;-)

"We're all @#$%&! cauliflower!"

That would be the most talked about slogan in the league.

Doesn't make it good.

The crap about all publicity being good publicity is still crap.
