What is it with St Kilda players and digital rape?

Agree with most of what has already been posted. This is, without doubt, our best win under Brett Ratten. I would have said the Round 5 Geelong game, but this one takes the cake. It's even sweeter that the Saints will come out breathing fire in their next game...against Essendon*.

Hope the Saints take their frustrations out on them; and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Ross Lyon had the team back to playing the 'strangle' type of game, like we saw with the Bulldogs.

For mine the standout for the night was the functioning of our forward line. There is a genuine chemistry between Betts, Garlett, and Yarran. They love playing in the same team together, and it adds a great deal of pace to the way we move the ball. Jarrad Waite was brilliant, needed a spell in the twos before coming back to senior footy and now he looks better for it. Would love to see him up forward more often throughout the season...we must remember St.Kilda's defence is highly rated too.

Well played.

It's probably only the "conscious" bit that would bother him.

After last weeks loss to the Pies, this would have to be the ultimate remedy.

Obviously we all hate Collingwood more than any other, that's a given, but honestly, St Kilda for me are not too far behind.
I know a lot on here would have Essendon* and Richmond well above them in the hatred list, but not for me.
I actually don't think there is an AFL list with more individuals that I despise.

In particular - Milne, Gram, Montagna, Baker, Goddard.

Ahhh it feels good. I'm going to sleep well tonight!

jake its not so obvious that we all hate Collingwood. I don't. A little history. We have won 16 premierships and beaten the 'woods in 5 grand finals, so we have a lot to thank the 'woods for. If your Collingwood mates ever tell you how well they are going during the season tell them home and away matches count for nothing and talk premierships as I always do and see the reaction.

Now if you want to talk hate there's Essendon*. Mind you its hard to hate them too since they got rid of Sheedy and the pretty boy retired. They did the right thing and traded the rapist (alleged) and you almost have to pity them because they have the worst coach in the league which their supporters are the first to tell you about.

Okay, I talked myself out of Essendon*. Your right. The aints it is.

The world isn't right until I can comfortably go back to feeling pity for the Saints, I never had to bother hating them until the last 7-8 years because they were always so pathetic, and that was where all old Carlton premiership players went to play out their time in the AFL.

Another year or so for them to slide and things will be back to normal....

St Kilda....AHAHAHAHAHA......... No Riewoldt, no saints!! If they can now slowly slide back into the pathetic obscurity that has blighted their pathetic club since its inception, I will be a happy man. Long way yet but if they now slide back into the pack without having won a premiership during their 'window' it will reinforce the abject misery that their supporters perennially endure.

I havent seen a Carlton side play like last night for a long time. I actually started to feel some of the arrogance I've had buried since about 99-2000 start to rise back up. We need to keep things going but to beat both of last year's grand finalists within a 3 week period is great. We need to beat the Hawks in 2 weeks time!!

Obviously Jake Niall and I were watching a different game of footy though because from where I was watching Judd was a god amongst men and Hayes was a bit part player trying to get his side back into the game. How good was it watching Yazz, and then Garlett basically run away from their opponents on the wing, just burned them off. In the replay you can actually freeze frame and see the moment where the St Kilda guy chasing Garlett gives up, the second where the belief leaves him!!

Best carlton performance for 10 years!!

The Saints scrapped over the line in the dying minutes against Bulldogs then lost to Port and Carlton. Should really have lost their last 3. Struggling without their captain and I wouldnt be surprised if they miss top 4 now which puts their premiership aspirations in real trouble.

Blues on the other hand......how good was it!! I would have settled for a 1 point win against that mob but to have totally controlled the game for 4 quarters and to run the game out like we did was bloody fantastic. Probably our best 4 qtr performance for a number of years. A forwardline functioned superbly, our mids dominated and our backs were never really pressured. Still frustrating to see our approach to 'running down the clock'. Every time I see the ball raised in the air with 2-3 minutes to spare my heart sinks. But we are slowly eliminating silly errors from our game.

Also kudos must go to Ratts. There was an obvious game plan last night and even better than that....it was beautifully adhered to. Wasn't sold on the idea of Thornton passing his 'use-by' date but after last night I am. He is serviceable but we have Jammo who is the General in defence. And if Jammo is our General then Russell has become his second in charge. White looks the goods and with a fit Bower and Austin in the mix it seems like Thornton may be in a little trouble holding his spot in the 22....

Port this week and we'll have beaten the last 4 grand finalists in a 5 week week period.

Not that we're getting ahead of ourselves

I actually feel arrogant again.

First time since 00/01

We've knocked off last years two grand finalists in the past 3 weeks.

And we've done it easily

Did you want us to kick it to the 18 Saints jumpers permanently stationed in our forward 50? Our tactics kept St Kilda to 4 goals and had us two and a half goals in front in time-on of the last qtr - pretty effective tactics for 115 of 120 minutes. If you want to gift-wrap possession to the Saints, by all means blindly boot it into forward 50 and watch Fisher, Gilbert and Goddard combine for 40 marks between them.

I know what you are saying about the quick ball movement but the reality is that only on a couple of occasions a quarter will you get a quick enough and clean enough clearance to spot up a forward in any space against this mob. Otherwise you'll just have to be patient and move it laterally until an opening presents itself up forward.

Going to the sterile-dome on a Monday night to watch the latest installment of 'tackle-ball' would have to be one of the least enticing fixtures in the AFL calendar. Good luck to the hearty souls of TC that are brave enough to venture out to see the Blues this week - I hope your team rewards you for the sacrifice because it won't be a pleasurable spectacle to witness.

Wrong on a few counts there Sedat

Don't blame you. You're not the first to underate Carlton or overrate ther own team.
