We need to decide whether we want to go down a route where we have lower tiers of membership available than we do now, and possibly lower prices to attract a larger number of members.

I guess the important question is whether the revenue or membership number is more important. It's probably not as cut and dried as it seems

I don't see the problem with making memberships more affordable to people, especially as the cost of living is increasing. Why would anyone advocate a pricing system which prohibits pensioners, students and low income families from becoming members? Hawthorn has the right approach, well done to them.

Well, Hawthorn aren't known as the family club for nothing.

Exactlty. A Hawthorn 11 game reserved seat membership costs $248. The Carlton equivalent costs $349. That's a huge difference, especially if you don't have spare cash to throw around. No wonder the Hawks already have 42k members.

They have Tasmanian home games though. Not as many reserved seat Melbourne games.

The fact is, if we offer lesser tiers of membership a lot of people would downgrade from the one they have and our revenues may drop, we'd need to have a lot more people sign on to keep revenue up

Steadily climbing.

I gave the AFL membership department a serving over the electric telephone yesterday.

Received BabyK's membership bits and pieces this morning.

Big thumbs up to the club, it's a good package. Baby bowl, fork and spoon, bear and certificate, as well as the regular keyring, lanyard/fixture, stickers and hat.

As compared to 28,071 same time last year.

Will we break 40k?

Only if we have a good start to the season. Media and "experts" have talked us down (out of finals), but if we prove them wrong early, the "marginal" supporters will hop on board.

Seems the Fevola trade and the booze cruise have had an effect.

I agree that some early wins will sway a lot of those who have not renewed, if we struggle early we might only get to the high 30k mark.

I need to renew 3 memberships, waiting until I move house next week though.

Would be good to know if our revenue is up on this time last year. Membership number really means nothing at the end of the day.

I'm sure if the CFC released an annual report we may be able to get hold of the membership revenue for 2009, and then later in the year compare it with 2010.

Just got myself an 11 game Silver Membership!

First membership I ever got was in 2002?? (tin rattling year), and then the following year.

It feels good to be a Member again.

How long do they normaly take to come via mail??? Will it be in a satchel (hat etc)...?

Thanks for the Heads up OZ Devil...

I'm guessing you can't use the memberships to get in to Nab Cup games, as long as it comes before RD3 V Bombers I'm all good.

Hopefully it comes well before then though so I don't have to worry about it for that long....

The latest membership figures are up- 27,556 currently.

I see the club have also adopted the Adult 3 Game memberships too.
