He does to a point, but I think given the circumstances he would be advised to help get a deal across the line with the hope of extending his playing future. If he decides to play hard-ball, he gives up any possibilty of playing beyond 30.

If he were to go to, say Sydney, they will get the best of Fev - no doubt. He wilol be on his absolute best behaviour with a truck load of support. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

I wonder if there's scope for recouping Fev's contract amount back from the AFL, given the AFLPA have made it virtually impossible to give a player any significant fine, or sack a player and have their money struck from the TPP.

Given that we have the cap restrictions, we may have an avenue for legal action on that front.

He is definately gone, I reckon. Any chance of him being there next year just evaporated.

He'll be top 5 msot likely but doubt he'll win.

I wonder how hard it wouldbe to get Fevola to agree to a trade? If the Drs mail is on the money sounds like his manager will play hardball.

As has been discussed to death on here, the options for trade are very very limited.

Mmmm, and this has been my point.
why doesn't our club be the one to stand up and help our own star..whatever it takes. It would help brendan, and go a long way to enhancing our own reputation as well.
I sure hope all is not lost..but this looks gloomy.

I reckon he's gone, but gee I think we are going to get munted on the trade.
Yet, that said, I'm still inclined to think it would be good for us.
Just a shame we won't get to see the Fev, Waite, Kreuzer, Yarran, Betts et al forward line in full effect.

Wrong year to secure the bumper trade - weak draft and all.

..cos i think, in constantly trying to 'help' Fev, we could very well be putting other players offside, with the constant 'support' he gets, and very little 'penance'..

..and for Fev saying he won't go B&F.. ..weak as.. ..like bowing out of the parade as coleman medalist.. ..i think it saves him having to front up to ppl, vs him doing it out of contrition.. ..it seems a self serving soft exercise for me..

His or the club's?

1. Fevola has a contract, he isn't going anywhere
2. Clubs don't sack players that kick the most Goals, Reference St. Kilda approach to Gehrig, he stayed and Lawrence was sacked.
3. No club will offer what Fevola is worth - 2 round 1 picks.
4. Our Premiership window is about to open.

Board will just tell him he is a very naughty boy, plus, there were no issues during the season, so we need to manage his off season with the same care we manage him in season.

Bit of column A and a bit of column B I think.

Sydney seems the most likely destination. Love to get ROK, but can't see it. Would make the kiss Fev gave him all the more ironic.

Surely the Swannies would have to give up their first pick or a White, Vezpremi, Meredith, or SOMETHING of worth.

Would West Coast be interested?

Well ok..but then why would that not be a problem at Sydney?
Are their players all a lot more mature than ours?

Seriously Josh - offered up for trade? No one is interested. It'll come out in due course...but even Freo have laughed at the clubs suggestion of parting with pick 4 in a trade involving Fevola. We're in the 21st century...if you can't physically get to a meeting then there are ways and means of doing so. What I've heard is that we're not waiting on any Carlton Directors - rather the AFLPA boss to meet with the AFL and Sticks/Swann to see what 'sanctions' can be included into Brendan's existing contract.

Thanks for highlighting my typos :donk: .

We weren't able to give him the support he required. How many times did we let him off his indiscretions? That didn't help him one bit. He needed to know where his boundaries were and we failed to set them.

Nothing made me more peed off as hearing Ratten gush all ovber Fev after a win and claim his game to be BOG while blokes like Judd, Murph etc clearly busted their arses, but because Fev was a sookie baby, Ratten felt the need to give him a stroke.

Not good enough.

Roos on SEN right now not denying a possibilty of a trade.

My money is with the Swans.
