Bombers had a pretty soft game tonight especially after half time
we coming off the toughest game in a couple years

If we play them the say way we took on the saints - we should win

But this mob always plays at another level when they get us

As I posted earlier in the thread, Armfield has to take Monfries. Has the pace to go with him on the lead but also good on the lead.

Please Dennis, when in a spoiling attempt, DO NOT put the slightest pressure on Monfries as he'll fall over with ease. Just watching the last quarter now I was amazed at how easily he fell forward when he got tackled. He knows when the contact is coming and just collapses.

We all think AJ should go to Lovett but Winderlich is proving pretty handy with his run and skills through the middle.

Do we put Grigg on Watson and have him hard tag him or just go head to head? He will set their runners up so I suppose it would be better to go the hard tag.

What is it about the Essendon* jumper, whoever wears it immediately becomes a smug arrogant showpony. I really really want to iwn this, more than any other game of the season - except finals. We know exactly what their gameplan is and we have a better side, so no excuses. We know Lovett will kill us if we let him run free. Lloyd and Lucas are over the hill. Lucas moves like a glacier these days. We have athletic ruckmen - 2 of them against their one. We know if we let them run they will probably beat us. Let us use the corridor, get it in to the forward line quickly, hammer them in tackles. Not sure if TBird will be fit - if so he is good for either Lucas. Not sure who to drop, thought Austin was good last week. And don't let a fat undersized gnome like Monfries outplay us.

Pressure is the key. TC will go into overdirve if we lose this one. I want us to flog them.

I'd actually like to put in a request to the admins that if we lose this game, I should be banned from TC for up to 24 hours after the game is over. Mainly because many of the things I'll say will violate probably every rule TC has about obscene and vile language.

why do people feel we have to tag half a dozen of their players?? They should be worrying how to stop Judd, Murph, Gibbs, Simmo, Stevo etc, we realistically only need to cover Lovett and possibly Monfries, the rest of the matchups will look after themselves, we are a far classier team than them, they should be the 1's playing the negative football trying to stop us, let our young chargers open the game up with run, dash and flair, and at all costs force them down the wings,

Go Blues!

I hope we get a few players reported for this match, and there's an overall intent to play mean and hurt some of the slighter and quicker Essendon* bodies. I particularly hope that whoever plays on Morefrees and Davey deliberately try to hurt them. There's no way you're going to stop those 2 players milking about 7-8 frees from the umps. So we may as well get some return for the frees.

I want to see Joseph on Lovett, and Bannister on Stanton.

After tonight's game, I can only hope the umps have got a little bit of their Essendon* obsession out of their system. And I can only assume that we couldn't possibly get as bad a run as we did last week.

What I don't want to see is a good start in general play, with a failure to convert on the scoreboard. Either start well and score heavily. Or start slowly, and lift the intensity throughout the game.

I want to see Fev kick for goal better than Monga.

Goes to show how frazzled this @#$%&! mob have got us when people are calling for a tag on a party-arse like Angus Monfries. :banghead:

Still can't accept the loss early in the year.

Honestly, Essendon* are @#$%&! shit and we have no excuses but to make sure their own mother's don't recognise them after this game. (I too would like to impose a ban upon myself for a period of 24 hours should these @#$%&! gimp chimps stitch us up again.)

I only watched the first quarter and IIRC he had about 3 frees in the first 15 minutes, all falling forward and the whole of the Melbourne team had none.

And you can guess who the umprire was, flowering McLaren  :banghead:

I think that Joseph should tag Scott McLaren, he is their most damaging player and once he gets his groove on, he is almost unstoppable.

He was again in sparkling form for them last night, and although the dees didn't do themselves any favours with kicking the ball directly to the scum players, when they tryed to clean up their poor disposal or did manage to get some run, McLaren stood up to the plate and wrestled back the momentum for them.

This is game plan for you Don if we lose but I think a week might be better as the pain will still be raw after 24 hours.

We'll take care if you but me thinks the boys will do their jobs as the Scum on show last night were playing witches hats.

McVeigh, Welsh and Reimers all look like they are at least a couple of weeks from being 100%. I'm quite happy for them to be playing against us (if McVeigh gets off).

Since we played them last we have lost Waite but gained Jamison, Carazzo and Browne. In addition Fev is now 100% fit and Bower has come on leaps and bounds.
Last time we played them we were too slow with the likes of Jacobs, Cloke and Hadley all playing - they won't outrun us this time.
Without Hille we should beat them in the clearances.

Well, today's Age has a close-up photo of McVeigh's clenched fist making perfect contact with a Melbourne player's jaw, so I'd say - yeah there's something in it.

I bet he gets off just so he can play against us. had it been a north or richmond maybe he would get a week but against us he will play.

I think them playing last night and we coming off the rest that the Bombers will get the jump on us early.

If we make this game a shoot out they will win, if we play with the intensity like we've shown against the Hawks and Saints we win.

Out: Banno
In: Johnson or Thornton

Yes,
it says...you were extremely naughty and won't be able to participate in the Carlton game, which is just as well,as your team will be severely flogged.

A glancing blow and not much in it IMO. He has form, I think so if he pleads guilty will still go so will probably contest it as has nothing to lose. He played well for someone who has missed most of the year.
When Melb took them on through the corridor and kicked long to the marking forwards, they outscored them.
Lucas and Lloyd played themselves into a bit of form in preparation for their twice-yearly best games.
I thought Lovett was quiet last night.
Monfries saves his best for us as well.
Ryder looks a prospect.
We have to win. This is another 8 point game for us.
They all are from here on in.

As an aside, Jurrah will go OK if he doesn't snap in half.

hi all,

starting to get desperate for tickets now, looking for 3 and trying to avoid the top deck, does anyone know if ticketek will be releasing more to the bottom deck, i was told at an outlet last monday that tickets were being with held until a later date but i am getting edgy now.

it is a 300 odd km round trip to get to a game and i have to organise the day off work but do not want to do so if i can not get reasonable tickets.

any help greatly appreciated.

I found my way to the city oulet yesterday and like you didn't want top deck. The girl at the counter didn't know when the new areas would be opened. It was suggested that I call them on Tuesday. Pretty poor situation all round when you would think the better seats would be available first. Even as a member only the top deck was available. Very disappointing!
