Speaking of vacation what was the reason given for getting here 24 hours before the game ?

Lol this thread is ridiculous! Sure we were smashed but we played a shit game that in no way reflects where we are at the moment. Every team play shit games, even the best. Does anyone remember Geelong losing to Collingwood by 80 points?
I haven't seen the game nor do I want to, but what I wanna see is how we follow up next week.

We haven't been in great form but I think we are definately improving. The calls for Armfield and Brownes head is an absolute joke! These guys have played what? 30 games? If that???

Armfield has the balls to take the game on and the speed and his ball using skills are on their way.Give him some flower time.

Our season is far from over. A couple of wins and we are right back in amongst the top couple of teams. I think we will make the finals, and it will be an awesome build up for the next few years when we will become a powerhouse of the competition.

We are not far off. Don't jump off the bandwagon because of one off week. It will happen again, it is how we learn from our mistakes and improve upon it that will continue the development of these great group of kids that are wearing the Carlton jumper at the moment.

Go the Blues, lets prepare to stick it up to the Eagles next week!

No, it's not a joke it's emotion, some of it based on reality if very clumsily put and slightly misplaced. There is only so much faith you can have before it becomes too late. Of course these players will continue to have their chances between now and the end of the season, if only because we don't have much choice.

These players, just like everyone, will be a assessed at the end of the season. Some will even remain on the list. However, if they are found wanting and still given a 'pass' mark with 'no accountability necessary' (from player and/or recruiter) then something is wrong.

Each case is different but we must keep learning and improving, there is only so much you can put down to development and time. Let's hope we have still more quality on our list to keep everyone honest.

I was at work today so I missed the game, pretty disappointed going by what everyone has said far and of course the result.

Just wondering, how bad is Waites injury?

Jon Ralph said its an ACL injury during the half time break - from the club apparently. Still not sure on how severe it is and haven't ruled out a return this season but looks like he will miss a large chunk of it.

Just back from feral park. Hell of a long way to go to lose.
Haven't read any of the posts or heard any commentary on the match, so here goes.
1. Our forwards in the first quarter fell into the trap of all following their man outside 50. Sure, it might hurt you sometimes if you don't but all you need is one turnover and you've got a goal. Dumb footy.
2. We were really back in the game in the 3rd. There were heaps of Carlton supporters and we made one hell of a noise. The kick by Browne at about the 31 minute mark was an absolute shocker. He had options in the goal square and yet went towards the centre. His general kicking and that of Armfield is just not up to it. Love their endeavour but we can't afford having blokes who can't kick.
3. The umpires, particularly in the 1st half, were a disgrace.
4. I can't believe the number of people who have bbq's outside the ground. Didn't see anyone drinkig beer- was wine and champers. They're wierd.
5.Don't drink the water

its always hard to tell on telly, but can someone tell me what the hell our game plan was in the first half?

ratts simply gave us no chance to win today, not that it ould have mattered much i feel.

still lets back our selves, and give our selves a chance.

it's like we waved a white flag to start the match.

Can we afford to have players with no endeavour who can kick?

I was there, I was (am) drunk, I was shell-shocked at half-time AND I still baited those fruit tingles to the end.

Was an inept performance, worst of the season. BUT all the premature sacking of players and coaches is ridiculous. First time this season we have been blown out of the water no matter how we have played.

Today also reaffirmed the notion that yout typical fruit tingle supporter resmebles Harold from Neighbours.

Wathcing Fevola in the warm-up, another day of 1 goal and x amount of points was obvious.

Armfield may want to work on his kicking.

Kruezer is a gun.

Agree with all you say except about Fev. Don't know where you were sitting during the warm up but I saw Fev slot 10 out of 13. He continually demanded the guys to kick it to him. He looked switched on to me. Should have been told to stay in the 50 during the first half and we might have kicked some goals. It's good to be back in Melbourne

Your wrong on this occasion.

The first half was a disgrace

The first quarter showed the players are stupid or Ratten doesnt have a clue or a combination of both

From the bounce of the ball of the 3rd quarter against the lions we have been terrible except against the Doggies

We are in crisis because I watched the first half. Shocking and a joke

The point was...that just cos you say it doesn't make it so.

I don't believe the club is in crisis...we are working our way out of 7 years of crisis....not an easy thing to do.

yes..the first half was shocking...but it didn't continue in the same vein....if it had we probably would ALL be slashing our wrists.

What has he done in his entire career to justify him getting on a Carlton locker.
