Fairly certain that Hadley won't be a getting game.

Not sure who the other two are though.

I understand the overall result, in the context of the season, for this game means sweet FA, but geez it'd be nice to stamp one on the 'Boners.

They smashed us last year and the years previous, and it'd be good to stand up and slap 'em one back, and tell 'em the Blues are coming and to move out of the @#$%&! way......

North & the Saints have been two sides that have given me the shits during the "dark" years, and it's time to tell those PISSANT clubs how minor they are in the scheme of things.

Hope the young lads have a good run, hope we don't get any injuries, and hope we smash 'em...

Shinboneme, no @#$%&! way, CARLTON by 28 - 34 points !

I hope that they play the newbys tomorrow.

Nothing would be more frustrating than a senior player getting an injury.

I'm trying to get a feel for how North will line up, I presume it will be Hale @ FF, Hansen @ CHF, Petrie @ CHB...

But who is their FB? I thought Firrito, however that's not what the fanboi's on the forums seem to think.

And for those who don't know what the Balharry references are, you might recall this appearing on carltonfc.com.au 2 years ago.

I'll be looking at his set shots, disposal, positioning and defensive pressure mostly.

Can you check on his beard too please..

I'll report on Joey Anderson. Special emphasis on his disposal.

I expect big things of him this year. Hammer is probably being rested as it is a long year and with Warnock unavailable he will be in for a lot of work. I also think Jacobs will get some real time in the pre season to see how he goes as we need all the big ruckman we can get, we also are able to elevate 2 rookies anytime we want.

It was our biggest deficiency last season. Imagine if we can give our midfield first use of the ball?

Surprise for me is Ellard not getting a run. His pre season has been fantastic and probably better than Joseph's but the club will have its reason.

Hartlett is recovering from a knee injury and is being eased into games time, Bannister is still one or two weeks away from full match play, Browne about a week away after groin soreness and Edwards will be lucky to get a game in the Bullants given his pre season.

My early tips:

Watch for Robbo to turn it on.
Fev may not play, looking for other options.
Kruezer to star.
Bentley to shine in the middle.
Grigg & Bower to be BOG.
Armfield on Harvey.

We would appreciate any pictures of you have of your Grandfather, who remains one of the best named Blues ever it must be said. We'll PM you if that's OK.

From the Blueseum

Harcourt Dowsley - magnificent!!

Sounds like he could have played cricket for the West Indies like luminaries such as Eldine Baptiste, Berkeley Gaskin, Hammond Furlong, Lancelot Gibbs and, my personal favorite, Euston Dudley Ashton St John McMorris.

In any case, I envy you having a grandfather to have worn the famous old dark navy blue into battle.

This is my favourite post of the week thus far.

Good to see you put a gun on the arse of Boomer. Armfield will match pace with him, if not beat him to the ball. Harvey will definetely lead him to the ball and that's going to be fantastic for his development and opportunities. It will be great watching Harney chasing arse for a change.

Really keen, as everyone is, to se Bentley shine.

Robbo !!! Yarran!! Judd!! Kreuzer!! Murphs!! Gibbs!! Waite!! Fevola!! Bower!! Jamison!! Simmo!! Grigg!!

They're all my favourites...I can't wait to watch them tomorrow.

We're going to win it because the kids are jumping out of their skins to play footy; and that'll be easier for them than preseason training. We're fitter, stronger and bigger than last year. Last year was just a taste of things to come. WE have a 4 prong attack this year; that's 4 times better than 2008. We have ruckmen rucking. Experience is the mother of all learning.

Carlton by 14 points at half time
Carlton by 24 points at the final siren.

Bring it on Bluebaggers.

I'll be guttered if we lose tonight. Not so much because we will have lost a Mickey Mouse Cup game, but because I will be in Melbourne next Saturday. :donk:

Sort of off topic I know...
Image
But I would've thought VISY was the short sponsors whilst CJ has been at the club
(I know this sort of thing gets up the nose of sponsors....but maybe not so much with VISY!)
