No i would be. I like who i am. I don't conform to mediocrity. I would not accept a job to be a yes man.

Like i said the Carlton of old would have applauded the same actions of Clarkos and afflict as much pain and grief as possible on other teams

All of a sudden we expect to be handed out favors from clubs we have dished it out to.

It would have been great to have had Fev kick the 100. I was on the edge of my seat gunning for the Fev but it didn't happen

Honestly answer me if it were Rocca lining up for his hundred i bet most of you would have loved the thought of him missing the hundred by one against us

I think the most appropriate analogy is when a cricket player is on 99. Do you see the crowd yelling at the fielding captain, telling him to gather his 10 fieldsmen at fine leg so the bloke can tap a single to get the ton? Flower no. Cricket is a hard game, you have to earn that 100th run by working harder than for any other run.P

Sorry monty but that is a crap analogy - a test 100 comes along to a great test batsman once every 5 or 6 innings or to a superhuman test batsman like Bradman once every 3 innings.

A 100 goal season only comes to good full forward once or twice in a career and great full forwards maybe 4 or 5 times in a career.

Circling a batsman with fieldsman denying the easy single for 100 is one thing - a great batsman will go over the top no problem - surrounding a Full Forward with 4 or 5 defenders is something completely different and only something that a shit bloke and a gutless coward would do - and Alistair Clarkson is a shit bloke and a gutless coward.

That WAS a crap analogy - nothing like a test 100.

Interesting clarkson says he had his chances and [REDACTED] them up.....would he not have dropped 4 blokes back if he was shooting for 8 straight?

Perlease :roll: .

No matter what happened at #98 cauliflower face was always going to use that tactic.

Of course we would boo Rocca whilst he was having a shot for his 100th - (although I didnt hear too many boos as Franklin was taking his shot) and we wouldnt have 5 defenders on him when we were 70 points up either (SOS would have been more than enough).

Franklin had to deal with exactly the same tactics for the last three games, back when they were talking him up for getting 8 in the Tigers game. Did you see a chorus of Hawk supporters calling up SEN to whinge? No. It's part of the game.

Defenders try to stop goals being kicked on them. If the midfield are kicking to the same bloke for 80%+ of their inside 50s, of course they're going to concentrate on him. That's football.

I'm amazed he got to 7 goals after his first half performance.

Our Midfield was at best pathetic. I know that Carrots and Scotland were missing .. but I think we need one more class midfielder .. DK would do the job. How to get him to the Blues ???

We would have to give up a walker or Bower for Daniel Kerr. I know it can't be done but i would love to see what Stevo's worth would be on the trade table.

Would slot nicely into the Swans midfield one would think considering they don't bottom out and top up

That sounds good in theory, in reality its pure crap.

The fielding captain crowds the batsman on 99 becuse the batsman would be nervous and is highly likely to make a mistake... it is done in an attempt to dismiss the batsman to WIN THE GAME.

Fev should have had as many on him when he was on 92 as when he was on 99.

Yes GH as per post last week:

"I luv the footage of the blues players running in to "remonstrate" with Clarkson in the battle of britain game. Poor Clarko trying to find some cover.

Clarko = sh*t" on http://www.talkingcarlton.com/phpBB2/vi ... highlight=

Nothing changes Clarkson = sh*t

If you can't see the difference, then you really are blinded by the baby shit brown and bile yellow of your miserable team.

Don't try telling us that he wouldn't have done the same thing had Fev kicked 7 straight in the first half, yet the funny thing is, he would've been justified in doing that.

We know what Clarkson is, don't worry.

If Richard Hadley was playing, would he have denied Fev his 100?

I like how Mr Clarkson says 'he had his chances' - you know what, he earned those 'chances', you didn't give them to him like some sort of generous person.

I don't want charity either, but I also don't want a coach going out of his way to do what he did when his team was so far in front.

I could have copped with them chipping the ball around even cos that would be consistent with a team that far in front a week out from playing in the finals. But what he did was pathetic, just a shame that none of his extra 'defenders' didn't cop an injury in the process.

Always next week though.

After reading all the arguments re. Buddy, Clarko and Fev, a few facts, please;
* Congratulations to Buddy- first indigenous AFL player to reach 100 goals in 150 years- fantastic!;
* Fev- a marvellous season in which you carried the load, and a testimony to what application and hard work can do to that prodigious talent you have, as well as a willing, potentially brilliant midfield is able to deliver to....;and
* Clarko- well, has there been a more mean-spirited, small-minded prick (apart from the Spew, of course!) to grace a football field in the last decade? Your lack of grace and generosity (as befitting a rare occasion) shows how blind you were to the passion of the moment, and ignorant to a sense of history, and all for what? "An ideal preparation for the finals...."? Hell, even Buddy was gracious in saying he wanted Fev to get the 100- Clarko, you're like a former PM of Australia- suffers severly from the small-man, small-dick syndrome.... :twisted:

Seriously... im a huge supporter of Fevs talents.. as everyone probably knows!!!

BUT... What Clarkeson did was ok.. he is teaching the Hawks a lesson on ruthlesness.. and youre not going to be a powerhouse footy team without being ruthless!!!

Fev is exactly where our team ended up... he was just outside of kicking his cetury and the team as a whole were just outside the eight!
Whats important is they ALL know.. including Fev that nobody is going to hand it to you on a plate!!!
They all have to take their eight weeks off and then train hard on the track and in the gym.. and discipline themselves mentally and physically for the real job that is ahead!!!
If you do all those things.... youre going to get EVERY chance to pay the Hawks back with some ruthlessness..and hopefully with interest!!!!

We can sit here and bitch and moan.... but thats the job at hand!!!

We have 2 major reasons to hate Hawthorn now

2006 - Felching tries to poach Thornton and fails to realise that good players cost clubs more than a pile of his naval lint and a pirated copy of Jurassic Park

2008 - Clarkson demonstrates as much romantic sensibility as Ike Turner and triple teams Fev to prevent him cutting into their precious percentage in a game they had sewn up in the first quarter and are guaranteed to finish 2nd

2010 - crashes the set of Ian Aitkin this is your life

Hmmmm. I'm not too fussed about Clarkson anyway. Irrelevant sniping piece of crap doesn't deserve a second of my thought.

Bateman can go and get flowered for his little girly skip on the siren.

But Clarkson... well... sit back and watch how had Fev comes out against the Hawks next year. Finishing on 99? Clarko next year will wish he'd just kicked the 100th. Dare I say it will probably do Fev the world of good.
