Fish's kicking was a definate highlite, if only he could do that all the time.

Difference between winning and losing.

Pros:

Finally went to a more modern mobile defence in the last qtr. Two talls and runners. We got to contests quicker and had more run.

Finally got Waite up forward. He is a genuine " X FACTOR " and should be used as such. Other people can do defensive jobs.

Finally used Cloke as a permanant forward. Is a strong mark and a good kick. Looks natural in the position.

Anderson got game time. May make some mistakes but this kid will be a star, just give him time in defence. Put Armfield in as well.

Houlihan, a little bit of skill goes a long way. A real genuine small goalkicker.

Murph and Gibbs under pressure, fantastic.

Great start.

Straight kicking for goal.

Another away record bites the dust.

Cons:

Carrazzo is NOT a defender, needs to play on ball or not at all.

That third qtr.

Opposition kicking over 100 pts again.

Walker flying for hangers to often in fwd line.

What no room for STEVO in the pro's...............
*snip*

Stevo was by far our BOG tonight.

TB

If you want me to list all Pros I might be here for a while.

No need for name calling just because comments don't support your bias.

Its not as if I put him in the cons, mind you he had no one on him :-D

I wrote this whole post like you would not believe & then my computer stuffed up & I lost it somehow

Anyhow, can't be bothered going through it again & I'm sure I've said it all before somewhere & got the same response.

So I'm tired & will simply say, cj, you're a dropkick & suffer from a serious case of NFI. Call yourself a psyche. PSYCHE

Mods, I'll take a suspension for that. Well worth it. No probs. Oh & If I'm goin down - Keogh, so are you, even worse, you're prob an un-educated dropkick. So called supporters.

& anyone can finish a post with :-D , if you're gunna have a go at some one do it flowering properly.

 What the hell is that all about?

Just because I didn't put Stevens in my Pro's (I did think he played very well and actually gave him 5 votes in the MVP)?

It's not as if he was put in my Con's.

As I said I didn't also put Judd, Ando's mark, Rattens moves, Fev's team play and many others in, I actually try to not go for the bleeding obvious.

Very ordinary TC, must be having a bad day! :?

I also don't call myself a PSYCHE (whatever that is?)

PS Getting personal just because someone doesn't agree is pretty pathetic!!

Your right, I should not have said you're a dropkick. That's obvious. Sorry.

Nothing to do with Stevo at all. The reason I went off & again I apologise for doing so, was your CONS & specifically AW flying for too many contests in the fwd line. WTF. Please. Let the boy play. I understand there needs to be someone on the ground & they should work out whose gunna go for the footy etc etc, but to say that;s a CON is IMO wrong. Especially when we are talking about "developing" our kids. What better development than to let them play their natural games & from what I've seen & I'm sure plenty will agree with me, AW wants to fly. So let him fly!!!!! It's not a CON

Development is more than just giving kids "game time" it's also about letting them go out & show their stuff. The very reason you & I love the game & go every week to see them do that STUFF!!!!

As for the psyche thing I was referring to your past comments about yourself previously, that you had something to do with psychology (not going to chase exactly what you said) & I would have thought someone with that sort of background or at least "string to their bow" would realise exactly what development is all about. Again, no offence meant.

You do, however make very good & valid points about the boys & their development also, it's just I wish you would see the overall picture more often than you do. There you go, something else you can get your teeth into, should you wish.

PROS:
* Judd, Murph, Stevo and Gibbs....mm, mm- some midfield!
* Great supporting cast- Grigga, Simmo, Armfield
* Great defensive work for three quarters from Thorton, Bower & Waitey...
* Fisher played a great game- see point below
* Cloke was the gun! His presence and hard work freed up Fish to be an effective 3rd option and allowed Hot Lips to rove beautifully, esp. in the 1st 1/4.
* Fev presented beautifully as well- a very mature performance.
* The Gabba! It's like being in a TV studio, it's so bright! 8)
* Yet another great comeback!

CONS:
* Whilst it was a great comeback, 2009 will have to be different- opponents will counter that. We need to be more consistent.
* The umpiring was bewildering, to say the least, esp. the one against Hammer!
* The 3rd 1/4...... :oops:

TC

Just to clarify:

You followed on a comment about Stevens by TroyBond so I thought you were continuing that discussion.

As for Walker my comments were referring to when he was pushed deep in the third qtr and flew a couple of times against Fev when he was nowhere near it. I have no problem with him going for marks he was just getting abit carried away in my opinion. It is fine to let kids "show their stuff" but it should also be within the team structure.

I am a Psychologist (not PSYCHE which is seen as offensive by some), specialising in Developmental Psychology. I have been employed in the AFL system for the last 10 years in such a capacity with most of my work at U18 level. I have also coached at that level with some success. I am having this year off to complete a PhD along with doing some contract work.

There is no doubt I see the game a bit differently but have been close to it for a long while to have an educated opinion. Sometimes right sometimes wrong.

You let yourself down with the personal stuff, how people can make personal observations of people on a chat forum is beyond me!

Generally your discussions are worth reading.

As for other people commenting I enjoy it. I may not agree with everything Keogh says but he is entitled to an opinion like everyone else and does make a lot of good points and is not afraid to voice them. The same could be said about a number of posters on this forum.

It is very easy to see the people who like discussion and the ones who are just looking for an argument to pass time.

Go Blues!! :-D
