Pagan still has a year left on his contract, the details of which Swann said the club would "work through" with him.

Interesting quote. Clearly paying out his contract or otherwise is yet to be worked out fully. It would be interesting to know what actually happens with this....

That's because the previous administration would have sacked him, then re-hired him, then sacked him again for good measure.

This was done nice and cleanly with not too much crap to go with it.

This is a trademark of the new Swann/Pratt regime. Not to drag these things out with mudslinging and innuendo through the media. Get it out of the way and get on with the job. I'm glad it was handled this way.

I would like to hear what the players are thinking at this moment and how all this is actually going to affect them through the week to this weeks game

how is this going to affect Carlton over all this week and the rest of the year until we get a new senior coach

ialso whats going to happen to the caretaker coach if he doesnt perform and wether he can go back to his role before taking on the caretaker coach

I know that we couldnt keep going the way were going is losing and it is pretty sad tht we are playing for priorty picks in a draft instead of trying to get a better ladder position

anyway at least 1 thing is we can now starting looking for a brighter future with a fresh new coach come 2008

cheers
OZ

The irony of that is that every time the Lions score a goal, they play jungle drums over the speakers, and when I walked in, I walked past some entertainers beating some jungle drums..... Perhaps you were having flashbacks to the game like I was???

Voss was very cagey on 10 news tonight too (lucky I was home early for once) - wouldn't talk about it on first cross - after main sports section, was asked about it and said "Yes I've been approached, but it's not the time for me right now, Denis has just been sacked".
Was asked if it was too big a job for a first time coach and said something like "it is a big job, but I'm interested, and I ahve to decide if it is the right time for me - I'm happy where I am, etc etc".....

Read into that what you will -I read "welcome aboard Coach Voss"..... :)

Good it's done.

Can I just ask that whoever gets appointed this time that everyone gets behind him and pulls together. The knives were out for Pagan in some quarters before he had even stepped through the door,

I'll be interested to hear Carey's rant tonight on confidential. No doubt he'll call this the worst decision in history etc etc.

Interesting... Carlton Adelaide game, bumped into some friends in the outside carpark who was going to the footy with Kouta's auntie, she said the same thing, not because of Denis. I will not post the real reason.

Thought about saying something but after a thought, like all aunties in my family, they know how to spread sh1t and gossip.

As for Denis, just watched the interview, thought he handled himself pretty well and still had glowing praise for the kids.

He had to work under extreme crap IMO;
No draft picks,
No money
Board in flighting
Lack of respect from players, most who were moved on.
No leadership from players on field.

Good luck in the future Denis.

And by the way, happy the decision was made to remove Pagan.

Guy McKenna as Coach, Voss as an assistant.

So what your saying is the real reason Murphy wanted/wants to leave is still unresolved?
