What a monumental f-up from the club.
I'm all for being very tough on the players in terms of trading, discipline etc. all things that benefit the CLUB must be done no matter what. If however the suspension was for the two 50M penalties (and nothing else) then it just does not make sense, he would have to be suspended every few weeks for the rest of his career if that is the case. Are they going to suspend Thornton for throwing his head back and mouthing off at team-mates when his opponent takes a mark on a lead?
If they want to trade him just make up an injury and get working in the background.
Doing it this way just tells the other clubs we are desperate and turns it into a buyers market, they will all lower their offers.
If you thinks its just about 2 50m penalties, your mistaken.
This wouldnt be a Pagan move. He hasnt dropped a good player for disciplinary reasons ever.
How do Murphy, Simpson, Caraazo, Gibbs feel, busting their arse to get the ball and get it forward and Fev goes for one handed marks, gives away frees and 50m, goes off at the umpire everyrtime he doesnt mark it?
Was dropping him the right action? Only time will tell.
Was doing nothing the best option? I doubt it
Didnt hurt Steve Johnson, Jeff Farmer or Nick Davis any.
If Fev is good enough, he'll come out of this a better player. I am optimistic he will.
What is being done to his trade value with performances like Saturday? Being dragged for poor discipline
