Got mine and Dad's today too! The bumper sticker is already on the car
Just one question, if we paid for a hat what do we do about getting it?

Last year or two you present your membership card during the Wiz cup and first part of the season at booths outside the ground and you get your cap.

Even though I am a million miles away, I have signed up... The club needs every individual member to sign up, and I have a Blue membership... It's time for everyone to show their true colours...

Come on you Blueboys!

Well done Big T.

One of the biggest things killing the club at the moment is Members not re-signing (Yes Smorgan was right that its hurting us).

I cannot understand the mentality behind witholding a membership as a form of protest against certain people at the club.

We're at 16,682 - going at a good rate.

Sign up if you haven't already.

I wonder if it is subliminal marketing to always end the tally updates on the official site with two digits from a Premiership year. Haha, if not, it probably should be. ;)

See below for membership figures for the last 5 years. Figures are taken from Talking Carlton with special thanks to Blueboys for collating three of the years at the end of 2005.

The only year higher than this year was 2003 which came immediately after Black Friday though this year has probably had a spike due to the upcoming election and people wanting to be eligible to vote.

I'll update this as new figures come to hand.

Cheers,

GWS

Well I got graph envy after that post.

So I took this years figures so far and did a linear regressio forecast to the end of May (which is where it looks like memberships level out).

The forecast is pointing towards 32,000, hopefully it is innacurate. :P

We're actually tracking almost identically to 2005 at the moment. We ended up on 33354 that year. I'll go out on a limb and say we'll end up between 34,500 and 35,000. We won the Wizard Cup that year which meant a few extra members early on but our season proper was a dog with 4.5 wins.Should be a few people come back into the fold and a few more good news stories this year on as well as off field hopefully.

If we get our players to call lapsed members we will be fine, but for some reason this is too easy for Carlton. Seriously if Lance or Fev or Simpson etc called you, you would sign up on the spot. It is so bloody obvious!!!

Not as easy as that. They might need a bit more training than last year - I was called by one of the boys (maybe Sporn?) and I admit it was a bit nice. But then he asked if I wanted to join to which I answered I'm thinking about it. His response was "ok" and that was that.
I can't imagine Fev letting it go like that without nailing the sale but for most of them... they need to sound EXCITED about it and get the person on the phone to sign up even though they may be putting it off or not really wanting to do so at all.

Most of TC has probably already signed up, it's the difference between supporting the club & barracking for it. But for those who have not yet done so, let's not take it for granted. We have to offer VALUE and generate EXCITEMENT.

The team used the call centre at Telstra Dome last time and that would have been when Collins was still president.

I already had my membership at the time but if one of the players had of called me i would have certainly signed up on the spot :-D

Just a reminder - in particular to all member... even though you may have signed up chances are there are blues supporters you know how haven't... in the past week *in light of the elections and whatnot*, I convinced my brother to upgrade to Gold "C'mon mate, a few drinks before the match and reserved seats when we rock up at 2 o'clock" - and yesterday convinced the old man tp get a silver membership via direct debit... i'm also getting my 8 year old brother his first membership and carlton top before the start of the NAB so I can take him to the Carlton Essendon* match.

You may not always get people willing to sign up, but as I found out - it's worth a try! :-D
