heard on 3aw that Fox is pissed and is considering challenging the board.

If true, then they are not much better than us.

Its sad that there is another crap thread on TC where people just re-hash exactly what has been said in the other 30,000 posts on this topic over the last few days.

What rotten luck for us!

Hopefully the article is a little"inaccurate". Given Pagan would be the only experienced coach "available" it does really say something about him if the article's correct.

What does it say about Pagan? That St Kilda reckon he's a shit coach? That an approach was made through his manager and Pagan said there was no way he was walking out on a contract? Or not really anything at all about Pagan but you can interpret it to suit your feelings about Pagan pretty much any way you want?

Let's see.The board doesn't want him, the player's don't get on witn him, ex-player's want him out so badly they'll pay-out his contract themselves, You don't think he's jump at the chance to coach a good side like St.Kilda where he's have control again rather than strings attached. Come on. It's not me inertpreting it as I see it, it's making a common sense judgement. Hope the article's wrong but if it's it not I'm guesing, sadly for us, the Saints don't want an out-of-date fossil. Interesting, given they want an experienced coach and Pagan"s probably the only one that "available". Remember, if a new Board takes over later this year, Pagan would know he's gone. I'm sure our current Board would let him break his contract with us in a heartbeat.

My guess, with his health problems, is that Collingwood would be Malthouse's last team

I don't see how you've come to the conclusions that Pagan is the only experience coach "available". There are some big assumptions behind Pagan being available, and possibly even bigger assumptions behind no one else being available.

How you can then come to a "common sense judgement" that it "really does say something about him" if st kilda don't want him as a coach is beyond me. It may say many things, but saying that st kilda not targeting him as coach means anything more than just that is adding your own spin.

Big call.

Will you be attaching a guarentee to this claim?

Believe it or not StK are not that silly to want Pagan. No-one wants Pagan. Even the CFC don't want Pagan

Reckon that come round 7 next year and we are sitting 0-7 or 1-6 that Pagan will finally be given his marching orders with or without the AFL's blessing.

And if Mitchell gets his marching orders at the end of this year, who will we have to take over from Pagan when that happens?

GH hows the dental business going?

Who will take over? Depending on who StK pick up there are a few:

Pyke, Longmire, McKenna, Harvey. Would not get hung up on Mitchell so much.

Of course there may be a little bit of personal interpretation there (we all have our own interpretation of things) but either way, why would they rule him out if they're after an experienced coach as reported? For the reason's I mentioned above, no-one really wants him at Carlton, that's pretty factual now, and St.Kilda really offers something. As I said , if a new Board gets in later in the year, he's gone. Common sense would tell you to try to take another opportunity, especially one such as St.Kilda that offers so much opporunity, or possibly be left with nothing. At worst be stuck at a place where no-one wants hims. What other reason may there be? Surely you'd jump at it. I'm thinking the only way I'm wrong here is if the article's wrong and the Saints are interested. Surely that's not too hard to understand. Can't believe the above explanation is beyong you. It's not hard to understand. It may not be the only interpretation of it, could be a few of them, but it's a compelling one.

2 weeks out from the finals there was no commitment to sack him - they had only engaged a management firm to carry out a service. If he had won a flag would they have gone down this path?

But will these guys be available mid-year? They're all currently employed.

Of course not but the way they handled the process mean't that they had commenced researching Plan B (BEING PROACTIVE) and could have easily shelved Plan B without it leaking if they won a premiership.

Down at Carlton we have Plan A, B and C and everyone knows what Plan A, B and C is and everyone also knows how our board switches from Plan A B and C.

What I found interesting when comparing what happened at Carlton versus St Kilda was that the Saints made an offer to GT that was so untenable to him that he quit, thereby forfeiting the final year on his contract.

MAYBE that was what Carlton was hoping to achieve with DP and hoped that he would quit in the total debacle, thereby forfeiting a payout to him.

Maybe there was a method to the madness of the Carlton Board. 8)

Thoughts???????
