Enormous figure in the game.

Resurrected our club and returned us to greatness.

A very fitting game last night as a reflection.

Indeed.
Glad I thought to bring him up here earlier this week...
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=37919&start=34

But don't forget folks, what hasn't been mentioned in this thread is the greatest come-uppance of all...

The modern Carlton Football Club began when WE stole their best player, Captain and 6 time Premiership player and made him OUR COACH!

Ronald Dale Barassi.

and Our glorious Carlton supremacy era began.

Deep down inside they are still bleeding about it - believe it.

They didn't win another flag after Barassi left for 56 years!

so @#$%&! 'em.

We win.

Last night was a fitting final tribute to him.

Wonder if he saw it...

3 clubs were at their nadir when he signed on to coach them.

Within 4 years, all 3 of them were in Grand Finals.

I don't like using the phrase 'Greatest of all time' because it's so nebulous and biased.

Ron Barassi was the greatest of all time.

Absolute gentleman. Loved his special comments on 3AW in the 90s.

RIP

Was somewhat fitting last that the 2 clubs he played for played a crazy hard-fought final the night before his passing.

Giant. I remember when he was announced as coach of Sydney, made huge headlines here in the harbour city.

Here’s hoping we bring the spirit of 1970 this week in honour of him.

This sux. I only fleetingly kinda met him late 90s at a supporter function. Seemed very humble for his standing in the game Loved the footage of him absolutely seething in the 70s suit. Coaching north at the time perhaps.

They should rename the Premiership Cup after Barassi.

Unbelievable that this happens after last night's epic between his 2 former clubs. Vale a legend who forever changed this club and every club he touched

Very sad news. A legend of Carlton and of the game itself. I enjoyed the video tribute to him before last night’s match.

Best wishes to his family.

They absolutely should.

Especially since 6 of his premiership wins were against Collingwood
