Like most, I saw our loss on Sunday as the result of our complete inability to try a dangerous kick, or to execute a simple one

Saad and Docherty are our two elite kicks.

I think Cerra is probably the next best.

I have no idea who else on our list is an elite kick. Jordan Boyd has impressed when given the opportunity. Zac Williams pretty good. Walsh not bad in space.

Who else have we got who's a decent kick? I'm really struggling...

Charlie and Gov.
I think Motlop is a good kick. Weitering is ok

Ed's ok when kicking to Charlie :)

McGovern & Williams are two of our better kicks.

McGovern stands out to me. Combined with his vision & footy IQ, he's an asset.

Cerra & Doc both good but also prone to inexplicable shockers

The efficiency % is skewed towards defenders, partially because that’s where you want an elite kick, but also because they have more space to work in (greater margin for error).

Saad, Doc, Gov, Newman, Weitering… all 75%+ by foot on the rebound, but also 75%+ uncontested.

Saad stands out as he works up the ground & can hit the mid-range kick that opens up the field.

Cerra, Walsh & Hewett are, arguably, the ‘best’ users in the side with 10+ disposals per clanger.

That said, I think McGovern is the most damaging.

If I had to rank them I'd probably go... McGovern, Saad, Charlie, Newman, Weitering, Doc, Cowan, Cerra. Jack Martin can be a beautiful kick but last year had some stinkers, maybe having calves made of dental floss has caught up with him.

Saad, Gov, Charlie

I'd rather Charlie plays out and kicks to SOS, H, (or Pitto) than SOS to Charlie...

Also, who kicks over 50...
Doc, Gov, Acres, Charlie all at the drop of a hat...
Good way to break up a flooded Defence too (hi Saints), but what would I know

Go Blues

Doc is 50/50 at best his good is very good but his bad is very bad.

When he is not scared Obrien kicking is elite.
But walk up behind him and say Boo he will spray it anywhere.

Gov is the best

McGovern is the only one with the sack to actually try a dangerous kick. Everyone else hides in their shells.

Boyd, McGovern, Charlie, Williams are all excellent field kicks. Corey Durdin is very good and Kennedy is underrated.

McGovern, Saad, Boyd and Charlie probably the best 4.
Durdin might be our best inside 50 kick but doesn’t get as much ball up the ground.
Kennedy and Cottrell good on the set shots for non forwards.
Doc, Newman and Cerra run hot and cold - the good is very good and vice versa
Weitering a good kick too but has become too unwilling to take the dangerous kick that could open the ground up

I'm absolutely shocked that nobody has Obrien.
Every year I've had to listen to all his supporters on this site mention his lethal left foot.

Forgot about Boyd and Kennedy. But as noted by Syd, we're possibly judging the players by their best kicking rather than average (although I did exclude LOB, whose best F50 entries are up there with the best but he has too many clangers to make the cut). If the question was who do you trust to take high risk kicks, it probably is just Gov and Saad, with Boyd needing a bigger sample size.

As was said earlier, I'm sure he can kick, but put someone within 8m of him and he shits the bed

Can't say I recall Kennedy drilling passes over 45, but he's a very good set shot goal...

Williams? Just can't say? I'll have to wait a year to find out unfortunately... But recall his run and evade which is missing atm

Go Blues
