Massive game again this week. This mob have caused has plenty of grief in the past, would be nice to throw some back at them.

Hopefully Yarran can get up, tight hammies are always a concern.
Houlihan looks shot to me, he really does. Does some nice things when he gets he ball, but seems to be labouring. Would prefer to see someone like Lucas as the sub.
No way I'd be taking McLean to Subi, or playing him again TBH. The game has well and truly passed him by.
The only other player from today that I have question marks on is Davies, but then while he didn't stand out, he didn't do much wrong.

I was interested to see Doc tweet that Duigan is tired, and I actually had thought he looked so today. Fortunately we have a bye coming up, but will be interesting to see if soemone like him is rested in any other games. Must be a demanding season on a bloke like him after years of SANFL.

Agree, McLean and Houla have to go!! Davies as well. he hasn't been too bad but we have better players to come back.
Russell, Carrots and Waite to come back in for them hopefully.

Will be good to take a strong side to Perth given we'll most likely be back there in a month to take on Weagles round 2 of finals...

The season really starts now.

I'd bring in Armfield, Carrots and Waite (all only if 100% fit, no half-measures).

I'd take out Houlihan, McLean and Duigan for a spell. Davies stays for this reason. He hasn't done a whole lot wrong, just nothing overly right. Hopefully Yazz is right to go, and even though the club says there's no problem it's hard not to be skeptical.

Our record against the Purple Haze (over there in particular) is abysmal, but while they've got some real quality in that team, they're on the ropes. If we're fair dinkum about this top-4 caper we should smash them. Will be interesting to see their in's, Mundy and Sandi can't be far away, and that spells trouble.

I'd like another couple weeks of Brock. He looks like he is starting to adjust to the speed of the game at the top level. Needs really to get 5 in a row, and if he isn't up to it we will know by then and he will be up for delisting at years end.

There are a few coming back but I would be reluctant to make more than 2 changes though.

You would think that the MC would want Carazzo back immediately and Waite if he is fit (would like to ideally see him have a run in the twos first).
If Army is fit I would like to see him come in too.

So at the moment I think

In: Carazzo, Armfield
Out: Joseph, Davies

Hopefully Carrots and JR are fit. Have we given up on Bower for this year? I'd rather him in the team than Davies, and Bower looked good in the twos last week.

Waite won't play - was on the radio yesterday and said he's aiming for the Hawks game (despite him being "really close" about 3 weeks ago).

Yeah nice try. Close, but no cigar.

Brock at Subiaco frightens me. He may not make it inside 50 at either end.

In: Carrazzo Armfield Watson Setanta
Out: McLean Houlihan Duigan Davies

Need to back our speed in Perth. Duigan has needed a break for weeks. Extra big man needed there with Setanta coming in. He could actually run with Pavlich?

I'd give Waite another week as it is in Perth. If fit I would actually play him in the Bullants this week as it usually takes him a game or two to get his timing back.

Russell, Hampson, Curnow, Bower, Jamison not ready yet!

B: Touhy Henderson Watson
HB: Yarran Laidler Armfield

C: Simpson Robinson Scotland
Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy

HF: Garlett Thornton Gibbs
F: Betts Kruezer Walker

Int: Carrazzo Setanta Ellard AJ

Yeah.... he frightens me too.
I want to give him continuity, but maybe a week off would be better, just based on the ground.

It will be an interesting one next week that's for sure.

We have to win to have any chance of top 4, and they have to win to have any chance of making the finals.

(Putting my cynic hat on the AFL will be wanting 2 WA teams in the finals so we can expect to get nothing from the umpires next week, much like Round 22 last year  )

I went to the Freo/Saints game on Friday. They started off very slowly as they did against the Hawks, played alright in the second and third, then faded again in the last. Overall I didn't see much to worry me, but of course they didn't have Sandilands in.

I would like to see Carrots back in next week but I'm not sure who you drop. Duigan is looking very tired but I'm not sure on the status of JR.

dont listen to this crap from Wallsy Duigan was ok and doesn't need a rest FFS- they play for 21/2 hrs a week they are young and fit if they need a rest - Well bloody rest them during the week

Freo has had an interesting run played WC Hawks Saints and now come up against the Blues - Would have thought they would have won one at least - Hope it is not us

didnt like the last half last yesterday it remindedme of the last quarter we played before facing WC We finished flat and started flat th next week

It was a taxing game for them friday night Saints worked them over - hope it has an effect on them next week because we owe thenm big time for treating us with contempt last year

If Waite is fit - Straight in at the expense of Davies and shift thornton back

If Carrots is fit - in for Hoops who looks out of sorts

No other changes big ground lots of space to run into - Walker Betts Garlett should dominate

I tend to agree - while at times I don't mind Wallsy, once he gets something in his head during a game he's like a dog at a bone and will go looking for it and won't shut up about it. Yesterday's examples were Duigan looking 'tired and needs a spell in the twos', and Simmo 'playing injured'. Also early on he was getting stuck into Hendo, a little harshly IMO (Hendo wasn't brilliant yesterday but he played ok).

Walls, like Tony Shaw, is out of touch and shouldn't be commentating.

Send Gibbs to Pavlich. Armfield to Hill.

Waite & Armfield don't sound like they'll be fit for this week. Ellard hit over 78% game time (about the basic standard for an AFL midfielder) for the first time in months (yes, I'm ignoring the games where he was subbed in or out). He's not really fit either.

I'm 50/50 on Duigan being given a rest. That comes down to the status of White, Bower & Russell.

Davies was completely consumed with stopping one of - at any given time - Davey, Bate or Green in a game where he could have run rife off HB. He didn't, and he'll be exposed if he does that again next week.

Warnock needs to be on his toes this week (almost literally, to narrow the reach advantage) against a quality, if underdone opponent in Sandilands. Joseph showed he's still useful if you use him in the midfield.

Out: Ellard, Davies, Duigan, Houlihan
In: Carrazzo, Bower/White, Lucas, O'hAilpin

Sub from: Simpson, Scotland, Carrazzo (purely to rest one of them for 2.5 quarters)

If we brought in Bower, I'd move Thornton to defence, but if we brought in White I'd opt for Lucas, to balance out the run and match-ups. Would prefer to play Lucas through the middle & HF.

I know you've been on Ellard's case for a while, but they're hardly going to drop him after he had 18 possessions and three goals. We both know this.
