We needed to match them for pressure (which is difficult because they are very good at it) and we didnt. They caused the turnovers and then made sure they made us pay each time.

They are good.

Tackles US 58 them 88. They worked us over and then stomped on us.

We need to take that as a lesson and work on improving our own defensive game and mental hardness.

Me thinks this isn't a good idea but what do I know.

Saw it live in HD here. Collingwood much more disciplined and well drilled in all aspects of the game. Cannot understand why a now experienced defender like Bower continues to let his opponent drift out to be 2 metres in front of him. But it reflects the attitude of many in the team who are only prepared to run hard one way.

The end result is that the better players feel they need to take one step extra which results in their disposals being pressured. Setanta the only good forward we had for the day.

While our tackling is probably better than a few years ago it still has some way to go. If your tackle doesnt pin an arm you may as well not bother..you're just spinning the opposition around until he sees someone to handball to, given you can be spun 1700 degrees nowadays

Collingwood were very good today and we actually had some good periods when we stopped the handball at all cost Rubbish. Final score does not reflect the game and had we kept it tight latE in the third we could have causen an upsEt. I would not slash wrists or sack coaches after this....

Um...I don't think there will be any wrist slashing but there is such a thing as a cumulative effect. Better to be prepared now than to regret it later.

Someone just sent me this sms - football players should be paid by the week and based on their performance. They need to be held accountable....they don't care, they still get paid! No guts, no glory.

Not very resilient as a team we are.
Henderson needs a spell - has struggled for a few weeks now.
I'd keep White in, but switch him as a forward, and bring back Waite for next week to play in the backline.
Reckon Mclean needs to find form at the bullies, and bring in Hadley.

Well done to Setanta on a very good game. Best for the club.

Those 4 in time on of the 3rd completely knocked the fight out of them.
In the recent past we have been able to run with or over teams fitness-wise in the last quarter. This time the shoe was on the other foot. Plus, 20 of 24 goals through the corridor is insane. I think Ratts and those around him must be blind if they can't realize that sort of stat is happening.
Mind you, 17 goals from turnovers (mostly in the corridor) doesn't help anybody.
White was well beaten on the night and was left to suffer for it except for a brief period when we had Hendo down back and White up front but we then changed back to the losing combination.
I have never called for Ratts to be sacked before but I do wonder if he is proactive enough for today's rapidly changing games. React at your peril. Five minutes and everything can change (see time on 3rd qtr) but to wait an hour to make what was a pretty obvious change and then change it back again once it started to work is puzzling to me and many others.
Next week we will need our very best game or we will get beaten again. At least St Kilda don't usually kick 20 goals, even when they win.

Read my signature !!!!!!!!

have always believed in this !!!!!!!

As a kid playing footy 20yr ago the BOG's always got gift vouchers and prizes. Rewarded for putting in great performances not for having average games
and still getting paid.
