Pros:
Intent was there right from the start; no bludging by anyone.
Yarran providing life up forward.
Goals from stoppages.
Warnock doing well in the ruck
Murphy great running in the midfield
JR controlling the defence
AJ keeping Thompson relatively quiet
Pressure on Waite and Thornton to perform to get back in the team

Cons:
Second half of the third quarter couldn't get the ball through the zone.
@#$%&! UMPIRES...unbelievably bad performance. The 50m penalties, the non holding the ball decisions, the soft chopping of the arm free kicks. Disgraceful from the HACKS. Shows how weak they are when they're influenced by the home town crowd.

*EDIT* How could I forget Lucas...looks so composed...one attribute he has which is so valuable is his ability overhead...looks very strong in a marking contest.

Newbies White & Lucas fitted in nicely.
Well done to the MC for good selection and preparation of the team.

Pros - What will KB have to talk about this week and who will phone in. Telstra must hate it when we win. Their revenue is down by 50% for the week.

Pros:

Any win against this team esp at AAMI is a very good win.
Judd-he makes too much of a difference...we need to be able to win games without him going forward.
Garlett Betts and Yarran bring the pace we sorely miss and they play on intinct which is great to see.
Walks...wish people would give this bloke the same leeway given to Ratts...he has been out of the game for ages and needs time to get going again...we all know he has class pace passion and aggression what more could we want???....well done 1AW!!!

Cons:

Would be nice to beat a team now who has actually won a game.

Pros
- 8 goal win interstate against one of our bogey sides
- White, Lucas some very good signs for future
- Yarran showing us his silky skills today, was great to watch
- Ratten can chalk up a win against Neil Craig, finally
- Solid game from Judd who was able to cruise a bit today, a nice way to ease him into the year
- Good response after last week's poor performance
- Very, very good team effort across the board
- Lots to like about today, but still plenty to work on

Cons
- Lost our focus in 3rd qtr and early in last
- Kick ins still a bit rusty
- Crows in very poor form made us look a bit better than we were, don't take too much away from us though
- Ball movement still a bit slow at times
- Players too indecisive at times, too, need to back ourselves in a bit more
- We didn't actually have that many inside 50s today, probably a sign of how weak the Crows were
- Still need to get tougher mentally, had an opportunity to really demoralise our opponents today and wasted it

Pros:

Best team balance and selections for the modern game since Ratten has been Coach.
Run from defence.
Gibbs at HB.
Judd!!!!!!!
Walker at CHB.
Lucas - great to see a guy that can kick
White - great debut
Houlihan up forward. Its his best position by a mile.
Jamo - looked better with Thornton not cutting him off.
The Band of Brothers. Betts okay, Yarran class, Garlett class and the engine as well.
Henderson - not starring but getting better and better.
Plus lots of others!

Cons:

Touchy Umpiring

+ Kane Lucas - showed that he can handle AFL pace, seems to have good skills and poise, handled playing in the backline well
+ Simon White - despite a slow start which could have seen 3 goals kicked on him in the 1st, he worked into the game and contributed well
+ Playing 3 x small crumbers in the forward pocket in Betts, Yarran and Garlett CAN WORK
+ Henderson kept presenting and contributing, continues to improve
+ Walker took to the hbf / quaterback role well; I'd like to see him continued in the same position and supported in the role
+ Judd slotted back into the game like he hasn't left

- I didn't pick Juddy up in my supercoach
- Adelaide weren't much chop - hard to see how we'll go against Geelong next week, but I'm hopeful
- Setanta didn't seem to have much impact, he should have more presence as a forward

All told, great result and a fantastic tonic to Blues supporters after the tripe dished up last week. As said it's hard to see where Adelaide are at so next week will be an important measuring stick game for the boys, we'll take a lot of confidence from the game if we're competitive and win.

Go blues!!

Won the game with just 36 inside 50s

Shows the forward line is good enough when we get the ball in there.

Combined with last weeks poor inside 50 numbers its a little bit concerning...on the positive side shows the potency of the forward line and we are yet to see Judd and Brock in the same team.

Pros:

Not in my wildest dreams did I think we could do what we did in the first 20 mins in round 22 2009 for 60 mins just 4 rounds later.
Brilliant team effort from a very young team who has a lot of improvement left in stamina as one would expect. :thanks:
Outstanding commitment from the start and until we couldn't anymore....then Houla's goals...andend of story.
We won the war of attrition against avery mature bodied and experienced team. A bogey team. The monkey is off our back.
My confidence in season 2010 is in stable mode but this game expedited the Blue skies stakes back to my preseason levels. :gift:

Judd makes a HUGE difference....as if he wouldn't.
Black Magic
Kreuzer. the pulse of the team.
Houlihan deep forward with Yarran and Setanta...I like
Yep...Lucas...I'm convinced...something about his kicking action though, like I have with Bower, but effectivenss of a first rounder

Midfield pressure unbelievable and unselfish.
Every Crows target I hoped we would pressure we did...our guys we really switched on.
80% efficiency in the 1st Q...   Makes a huge difference
Our 2 KPF Setanta and Hendo are extremely mobile and intensity good. Endurance will improve
Ratts and MC picked a team with pace to pressure with an emphasis on effectiveness and commitment. Tick
I read above " Simmo the sparkplug"...kudos to you. So true.
Well done Whitey...definetly came good and found the pace. Another win WH

Walker's 1stQ lacked confidence, and no doubt Ratts instructed Walker to be the run and carry from the backline.
Well done Ratts for believing Walker needed just a bit of time and faith.

Not 1 player over 30yo and not 1 200 gamer playing today....plenty of time and upside for a tilt at our 17th this decade.
We are massaging our next lot of fresh players to unleash onto the opposition (Bower, Waite, Thornton, Hampson, Hadley...)
I still love this list of ours.................You can do it. :fight:

Cons

Stamina. We are a very young team, with PLENTY of upside till the kids (yes kids) mature.
Otherwise, I'm clutching at straws at this performance. Maybe more discpline required with frees against.

Note

I truly believe that Cordy has made a huge difference to the team's stamina, but I have to make a big adjustment with my expectations as to where they are at. We have a very young list. Wake up. It's quality...but young.

I'm convinced that our physical lack of maturity is what causes brain fades, loss of concentration, lapses in pressure. In short Fatigue. We did very well against bigger bodies today. We may get better as the season progresses. I predicted as much..but I also predicted wins against Ess and Lions.....but not Adelaide at Adelaide.

Pros:
* excellent disposal today, controlled the play. Players seemed to do what they told?? Who knows ... but it worked!!
* Lucas was exceptional for a first year player. Composure and execution under pressure. Understandably a bit light on in the physical stuff but still manages to tackle effectively. Great to see him build on last week ... looks like he belongs: can't pay more of a compliment than that
* White did ok. Favoured by the midfield effort which was exceptional for the most part. Lucky not to get burnt by Burton who had a shocker in front of goal. Deserves time to adjust.
* Yarran and Garlett with Betts out of the middle was a winning move. These guys look great together and that first by-play by Garlett and Yazz got me out of my seat
* Houla repaid Ratts for sticking with him, well done there.
* Shame Brock wasn't there, we played the perfect style for him!!
* Walks was solid from down back. For him to win down there he has to hurt them with his run and carry and he did that today. His suspect disposal wasn't evident today, 83% DE from 36 possies is first class .

Cons:
* Consistency of effort was probably not there. Better teams would have exposed the Blues but hey, great stride in the right direction.
* Umpiring was poor at times, and just plain bad at others.
* Lost the CP and the Clearances
