Yes.....the first 15 minutes of tonight's edition rehashed the whole sorry story.....the only difference I detected was that "KATE" said she was paid $20,000 by the Police to keep quiet.

The 7.30 Report asked the Vic. Police for a comment; and of course none was forthcoming.

"KATE" also said that a Carlton player at the time of her "rape" was supplying other players cocaine; and that Jason Moran was often mentioned as being part of the "Carlton Crew" at the time.

I really don't know why Kerry O'Brien and the ABC ran with this story again.....especially as a lead story.

There sure is still a lot of hatred out there for Carlton.....they should all just suck it up and get over it.

Yep - gotta say I kept waiting for Ray Martin/Naomi Robson/Mike Munro/Mike Moore/etc to pop up.

Nothing new other than the police angle but I'd be surprised if this would have been a story if it wasn't for Elliott's bullshit a few weeks ago.

And yet it also keeps being brought up here.

Here's a hint: Ignore it. Don't give it oxygen, and the fire will go out.

Anyone who thinks the fire will go out has rocks in their head....

Rape allegations dont just go away... and nor should they if there was a crime ....

Agreed...I'm pretty sure the culprit will be bought to justice eventually. But the whole Moran link was a little stupid...reporter and Goldfingers girl obviously watched one too many episodes of Underbelly.

OK, cynics hat on, but the ABC is still pretty much a left leaning organisation and Elliots ties to the Liberal powerbrokers is well known.

Interesting that the 'tabloid' press aren't runnign with this but aunty is intent on banging the drum.

OK, let's all calm down.

ABC radio did a follow-up on AM this morning. The word "Carlton" was mentioned twice only, and it was merely incidental.

The story was about the payout, or hush money the Police attempted to pay the alleged victim after they decided not to take the matter any further.

It had NOTHING to do with Carlton.

Some people get way too sensitive when they hear Carlton.

It's either "had have" or "had've", not "had of". Pffft to the person who did the transcript.

Sorry but i think it has EVERYTHING to do with Carlton.

The way i read that report, it is Alleged that 'Kate' was RAPED by a man (or possible player) hanging out with CARLTON players doing COCAINE with a GANGLAND member and was tried to be sileneced by a CARLTON player and later, the president of the club.

I see this as a seriously bloody story. Hiding behind it is not going to do any good.

Now from what i read, the POLICE are in-fact the real problem, not so much the Carlton Football Club. Fancy paying out a girl $20,000 on such a serious issue. Honestly what a joke.

But Carlton players were there, and Carlton tried to silence her........................ This has everything to do with Carlton.

I see this as a serious matter and one that the club should look into NOW rather that just sit and hope it will go away.

I tend to agree with Ryan. This shouldn't go away, as Synbad said, so the the club should be a bit more proactive about this and make some sort of statement.

It's a very ugly piece of news, that's for sure.

Here a heads up Ryan - That money equates to about the same as victims compo for the same crime up here in NSW - In fact slightly more - The reason I know is my ex was raped, conviction recorded and jail sentence served and payout made.

What is sad is the police should know that if she was infact raped the money these victims ususal gets means nothing to them.
