Can anyone confirm he got reported in first quarter?

and your thoughts on the report? does he have anything to worry about? was the umpire too soft?

Sure did, he pulled out though when he realised he was going to get him high. Contact was minimal impact at best.

He got reported.

He was running to the ball the Richmond player was falling, Simmo pulled up short by still collected him, he tried to stop and actually held his hands up as he made the connection. IMHO it should get withdrawn.

Even given the extreme inconsistency of the tribunal these days, you'd be stunned if this report wasn't withdrawn by the umpire before Monday

Nothing to worry about. Should really be thrown out. If you look at it clearly, you can sort of see him relaxed his arm a bit to lessen the impact. Absolutely no intent.

i noticed on the channel 10/one coverage, that he and judd(?) were talking as they were walking off, and he seemed to have something on his mind, and he didnt seem as up-beat as the rest of the team. did anyone else notice this?

That was probably because his kicking was unusually shite throughout the whole game. He had a shocker.

I agree, his kicking tonight was below par as he is usually a great kick.

In that first quarter his first 3 to 4 kicks were with his right foot

I reckon he will get one week, it doesn't look too good
not saying it was intentional, but contact was made.

I'm more worried about the fairy-tale merchants latching on that incredible hit Cloke made on Cousins and making it a trial by media affair.

Looked like a textbook fair hit to me.

From the TV replay you couldn't determine how far off the ball it was though.

In which case, given that no report was made on the night, the panel can't make a decision on the legality of it either. Surely?

Until Richmond produce a home video from a wider angle and make it available to the match review panel. They'll be able to do that under the Nick Stevens rule.

He should play with a round ball cause he used the ball better in the international rules series.

I think that his problems is he is trying to run flat out while kicking instead of composing himself.

The umpire could be heard telling Simpson "I'm reporting you."
