Jesse smith has been dropped to make way for teague. What a disgrace, you are a f***ing idiot pagan. 20 minutes game time to prove whether or not you are good enough to play and keep on for next season. What a joke! As I said pagan you are a f***ing idiot.

Put aside your 'relative' way of looking and things for one minute and think that Jesse D might have next year and maybe a few more and Teaguey, a very loyal servant of the club, just might not have the same opportunity.

Jesse atleast gets to play in a VFL Final so it's not as if he has nothing to do.

Look back on DP's career as a Coach and you will see he gives players chance after chance to prove themself. The fact that Jesse has only played 20 mins would indicate he doesn't have to do too much more to stake a claim for next year.

So, reading between the lines, has Jesse earned a spot on next year's list?

I don't know but there is always two sides to every story. Not necessarily the one Bloos has suggested.

That's how I would read the situation, yes. The fact that Jesse will now get to experience some finals pressure, if only at VFL level, is not a bad thing at all. Probably more to be learned at Cramer Street this week than on the pine in Sydney.

I agree, Pagan didn't give him much opportunity, can't see him getting promoted next year.

If it is a farewell game for Teaguey, then why haven't the club announced anything? and why have the club chosen an interstate game to play it?

Just relax.

Pagan is a master at developing youngsters and it will happen in due course, not over night.

It's not a farewell game either for Teague - I wouldn't think. As far as I understand he is contracted for next year and will play his role next year as a great clubmen who will play the odd game.

Do you think he's been given a fair amount of game time to really show what he has to offer?

was Pagan an idiot when all the other teams overlooked Smith and he game him a chance of the rookie list?

Was he an idiot when he culled some rookies after the first year but kept Smith?

Was he an idiot when he selected Smith in the senior side?

Sure Smith may have only played 60 odd minutes all up, but he could hardly argue that they were the most impressive minutes of football a first gamer has played.

Good on Carlton for giving Teaguey A farewell game.

Great clubman, helps boost morale.

Smith will have his chances.

I love the angst about Smithy - I blame you BV 8)

The point is we do not know.

If Smith is retained where is the mishandling?

If not then yes I think he should have been given a run except

were we tanking last week? A simple way to lose a game is to run the beejesus out of your midfielders (and yes BV perhaps Denis has been tanking for 3 years 8) )

Even if Smith is cut at the end of the year, why are we saying he has been mis-handled, or 'burned at the stake' as someone put it?

He was given two years in the Bullants and about half a game (of game time) in the seniors. That's more than many rookies get before being cut.

Watch your f***ing mouth. Football is about reward for effort and David Teague hasn't done anything wrong in his time at carlton, There is no reason why Denis shouldn't put Teague up for selection. If it's one of his last chances to wear the navy blue then I'll salute a bloke who has backed back into more packs and put his nut over more contests than any carlton player in recent history. To give a guy like Teague reward for effort premotes a culture that every club in this leauge aims for. I see blokes like Ryan Jackson hanging on to tackles by their fingertips and I know they're driven by the example set by blokes like Teague. Footy clubs are built on blokes like Teague and you do everything you can to acknowledge that, even if they have a limited future. If you want to watch Jesse Smith go round go and cheer on the Bullants instead of slandering my club.
