At the expense of the tardy trio Betts, Garlett and Cloke, the unfortunate Hadley and omitted Joe Anderson - we'll be seeing five new faces in the side
to face Adelaide.

I think it's great for those fellas who have managed to play their way into the side at the business end of the season.

Although all young players, all five have a chance to play the following week in the first Carlton final in 8 years.

Whilst some will miss out, it's great that we can give these boys - Hammer, Army, Browne, Johnson and Yarran a crack
at a finals spot.

All the inclusions are capable players, showing a depth in the side that has been missing for many years...

The exciting thing for me is to see how Yarran goes this weekend.

The young guy has a massive chance to give himself a finals berth, and would know that if he can make a good impression this week and hit the first week of September with a bit of momentum he's got a fantastic platform for 2010.

The ball is well and truly in his court this weekend, he's been given the opportunity to cement a spot, to show he's capable of playing when the stakes are high, and that he can contribute to us in the immediate future.

This guy is almost the key for us. He could be the sort of player we've never really had, the sort of player who we, and other clubs, envy. Fingers crossed he has a great one this week, You've got all the tools to be a star, Chris, time for you and the other boys to go to work.

Carlton 2012: Lets remind them why they once feared the Dark.
