What people don't seem to realise is that teams from 7-10 are AVERAGE; i.e they lose as much as they win!

8 teams make the finals, 8 teams don't.

We are currently 7th with win/loss 9-8 and a % of 108; i.e above average.

If we finish at 11-11 with a % over 105 we will almost certainly play finals.

Not because we are very good but because we are (very) slightly above average!!!!

Im here..... you lose the bet.......

Pretty sure there are a few coaches who would just love Ratts list and the money the club has at its disposal....

We have to beat North and Melbourne. Have to. If we do that we will finish 8th and face either the Bulldogs, Collingwood, Adelaide or Brisbane in the final.

It's hard to imagine playing finals again.

After having sat through the Hoe-Down last night, I can easily say Port won't make it. They are TOTALLY crap, and if we don't wipe their arse in a couple of weeks then watch out....

We'll beat North, Melbourne & Port. Finals here we come !!

The game we put up against north should demonstrate how bad we wanna play finals. They will put in 200% this game. Dont worry about that.

The most positive thing about our draw is not necessarily who we are playing but where we are playing them. Our record this year at Etihad is 4 wins and 1 loss to StKilda and some would argue that in that loss we played our best football as a team all year . Our record at the G is 3 wins and 4 losses.
For whatever reason this season we play Etihad better than we do at the "G" and we have 3 of our remaining 5 games at that venue, 1 game at the "G'' and 1 game interstate at AAMI.

Funnily enough, I was just playing with the AFL Ladder predictor at http://www.afl.com.au/ladder%20predicto ... fault.aspx

I had us winning only two of the remaining games (Norf and Dees) and we were a game + small percent clear in 8th possy, playing Collingwood in the first week of the finals.

That's what I got too chuck, I'd love another crack at them with a near full squad including Walker, Stevens, Warnock and Jammo etc.

and if we don't beat North and Melbourne, we're not a final 8 side, so we can't complain.

We will not finish 6th.

If we beat North (IF) then we will finish 7th or 8th.

If we lose to North, get % knocked off by Geelong, then go to AAMI and lose to Port, suddenly we will be very shakey and I don't like our chances of beating the Crows in the last round.
A hell of a lot hinges on the game against North - Ratten will be sweating.

I think if we scrape in then most likely we will be playing away.
If we end up going to the Gabba, then we are in with a good shot.
The alternative is AAMI, and I don't like our chances at all.
MCG vs Collingwood probably isn't great given our last performance.

Let's hope we can beat North, Port, and the Dees, and then put up a good show in the final round to keep some momentum going.
With a bit of luck we can head up to the Gabba and whack the Lions again

I'm thinking Rd 22, Carlton vs Adelaide at the dome, winner gets 6th spot, loser 7th. Regardless of win/lose/draw both teams will meet 1st week in the finals, result will just decided home ground advantage.

Going to be a real pain in the ars3 if we make the finals for the first time since 2001 and have to play an interstate game and fans miss out.

Still thinking our rd 22 clash will decide our finals fate....

The ladder and moon is aligning.

Typical Essendon* getting 2 points last night to hang in there to remain a slight mathematical chance that sits in the back of our minds.
The saints should finish them off once and for all next week. :smoking:

So we need to win all our games AND

Bulldogs to beat Brisbane next weekend AND Bulldogs to lose their next two remaining games and we will be in the top 4.

I can't see Brisbane losing to Port or Sydney, but I can see the Bulldogs losing to Geelong and Collingwood I can, I can I can.
