I don't doubt your research, but I have vivid memories of going to the last training session before the GF and watching Dora, peter dean and Kouta hoping those three would play instead of athorn, powell, Scholl or Heaver.
That was a lost opportunity and it still burns.
Why'd you not want Heaver playing? He'd kicked 47 goals at that stage, including 4 in a final.
I knew that when he kicked a bag in the first final against the Bummers he wouldnt be dropped. I just remembered him as a player that went missing a lot. I can't remember the specifics of why I was anti-Heaver in the 93 finals. His leadup form may not have been good???
