When Thornton went forward in round 9, one of our readers asked whether Thornton had the worst goal-kicking record for the Club in terms of games played for goals kicked - at the time Thornton was playing his 137th match for the grand total of 2 goals!

As a result, we looked into the records for games played before kicking a goal:

In all fairness to JOC (John O'Connell) he never really had an opportunity to kick a goal.

He was however with Des English the best back pocket player that i have seen at the Blues. Additionally he was part of the best last line i can recall.

Waite, Southby and O'Connell was a formidable and attacking defence.

Just a pity that poor John was taken at such a young age!

Wayne Harmes played back pocket for a while. He was pretty handy as well.

Barry Gill wasn't too shabby either. :smoking:

He did, however look shabby. First bald player I can remember seeing.

The 'Mike & Dan' jinx may be well and truly alive but it worked the opposite for the Bluesuem - we highlighted his lack of goalkicking only two weeks ago (he was second highest games played for two goals kicked) and then he went and doubled his goal kicking!
