decided i'd go for something recent and for me that was round 17 1999 and yep thats recent when you've been watching games for well over 30years. It was Caaaaaaaaaarltob V Colingwood and i had no sepecific memory of that game until it soon became of notice that one simon beaumont kicked 8 in the 1st half but something else I never really knew or remmebered was a young fella named brendan fevola made his debut. i've only watched the 1st 1/4 so far but we had a fairly decent team back then but who was to know we'd make the grand final? we were still battling to make the 8. i think after that season teh format of the final 8 changed to current system all cos we came 6th and lost 1st week but still made GF and giving to the bummers hard up their anal pasage with absolutely no lube to speak off. anyway sorry , back on topic of beaumant,

so who in todays team is most like beaumant and who would be your wildcard to kick 8 in a half

If you mean JR Tolkien then I'll agree with you, because Frodo would have more chance than your pick. :yikes: for 8.
Didn't little Teddy Hopkins do something similar in a certain GF?
Was he no.7? That would be Bentick now..right?..well why not!!
More likely though,as the game has changed so much....it would take a few.
If I had to pick a likely suspect though...and if you mean they had to be someone you'd never expect it from,then...I would have to pick The Chief as no.1 candidate.
Otherwise,if its just someone we already know can kick, but wouldn't expect that many from, then,I would have to go for no.8..the Kreuzer.
Also will nominate Hoops and Simmo as definitely being capable.
Good fun topic..thanks.
