If that was the incident then Robinson should have nothing to worry about.

Was it that, or did Robbo retaliate?

Seemed to be just a bump, not much in it.

But we were sitting way way back in the third tier thanks to CK, so the vast distance may mean I missed something.

I should have guessed that ck had something to do with the report.

..a good win, sure it wasn't the hardest opposition but we're not worldbeaters, nor did we play that way last night.. ..we played ok, not our worst, nor our best effort but a good win all the same and we'll take it.. ..Fev played very good on on one vs Glass, slowly seemed to get some accuracy back (though i think he needs a bit more time, he still missed sitters by his standards).. ..Judd and Murphy played v.good games, as did simmo.. ..those 3 are definately our prime ball carriers this season.. ..stevo's getting back in touch, and hoops/fisher/gart with 7 goals contributed to our forward line problems being solved this week..

..more to be said, but its mostly already been covered, a few observations of WC.. ..i like mister Kennedy, but hasn't improved one bit since leaving us, and WC has better facilities/development* (supposedly better development).. ..he's still a bit one dimensional, and that one dimension isn't good enough just yet for him to rely on that.. ..he does have a good work ethic, and will become an avg/solid chf in a v.good team.. ..in an avg team will struggle.. ..and thats if his body holds up for him to play a few seasons without interruptions..

..masten i haven't seen much of, but wasn't dramatically impressed last night with his game.. ..Cox doesn't play anywhere near enough of a KPP type game.. ..sure, it's good that after the bounce he's an extra midfielder, but he needs to use his size and bulk much more than he does.. ..Krooz already plays a v.good ruckmans link role, but up forward he has as much genuine presence as a proper key forward, and down back he does what he needs to as well.. ..Cox needs to work on not just his tapping and link play, but his KPP role when forward/back..

..Lynch is a bonafide spud.. ..gets by with his attack on the ball (not nearly the man enough), but his kicking (while long) is a lottery, and his decision making is woeful..

Good win by the Blues.

Pretty much a fair representation of where we are at. We are a 7 goal better team than WC.
Sure we could have had a sublime system and used the ball amazingly and won by 120 points but we are not that good yet.

Slow and steady should do us fine.

I wanted 5-5 after 10 and I got it.

Go BLues !

I liken our system to trying to play kick to kick around a swimming pool

Unfortunately, couldn't go last night, so watched it on TV. You never get the full picture watching on the telly. However, was impressed with Joseph and Austin. Austin really looks like he could develop into a CHB. Remembering that our realsitic Premiership window is still 2-3 years away, if Austin can play CHB, that releases Waite...

I have a question for those who were at the ground. Who was Russell on? (not having a go at Russell, just curious. His defensive efforts usually go unnoticed)

Siegfried, I was going to JR was played off the bench a lot, which he was, but then I checked the paper to see what his TOG was [70%]. :donk:

The only time I noticed him was when he fluffed a handball that ended up with the Eagles but he quickly got possession back.

I really didn't notice him much last night.

AJ was brilliant.

That was probably the best tagging game i have ever seen.

He didnt give Kerr an inch, every touch he got was under pressure, and most of his handballs were out to no one as he was being tackled.

We did what we had to do.......which is win.

A far better looking and balanced side with Fish.....Garlett.....Austin.....Hoops.....Browne all playing their part.....AJ played a blinder.

Russell played on a wing and didn't really have an 'opponent'.... noticed a number of times when he was free teammates ignored him. If I was a teammate so would have I....

I thought the Irish gave us something, he does have a presence and nuisance value. Austin will be a real good player both he and Bower are quicker than what I thought. Also good to see Stevo laying multiple hits on opponents, looks like the Hawthorn game wasn't a once off. AJ has become my favourite player.

In summary we certainly didn't set the world on fire.... for the first time this year I'm really starting to question what our game plan is.... I was putting it down to maybe the players getting used to it and not executing (I was giving a REAL BIG benefit of the b doubt to coaching staff). I still think we would be heaps better with Krooz as a permanent forward and playing Gibbs forward of the ball more.

Just watching the replay.

2 things in the 3rd Q.

Juddy picks up a loose ball WELL INTO defensive 50. Streams out of defensive 50, roosts the ball from one end of the centre square to Fev 1-on-1 at our F50 metre line. Fev moves his opponent under the ball and races to pick it up and kick the goal. GORGEOUS piece of football!

ANd about 12 mins to go in the quarter, stoppage in our F50, camera picks up fev do a great block on Stenglein for Juddy. Next stoppage he tries the same thing but Stenglein has a good hold of Juddy and nuthin happens. But gerat to see the cogs ticking in Fev's brain.

There was an incident with about 7:05 left in the 3rd quarter, while we're referring to pieces of play, that shows some things certainly haven't changed.

Poor effort.

He was everywhere really.

Tagged Ebert for a little while (not sure why that was needed?), played a quasi CHF at one stage and for a long period was basically a loose player in the midfield.

When he was loose man in the middle he was really out of the game, West Coast did not bother putting anyone near him and he did not hurt them during that period.

was that the attempted elbow to the head of a weagles player?

As for my thoughts on the game (only caught the second half)
1. Hampson is going to be good. Whilst he isnt tapping to advantage yet, I felt he outpointed cox in many of the hitout contests including a few ocassions where he was able to just throw cox out of the way. Improving every week
2. Judd was back to his classy self - lots of run and carry in open spaces
3. Joseph had another impressive game locking down on Kerr. Think he is firmly entrenched in our 22 now which is a great achievement for a rookie. Would like to see him step up over the next couple of years by picking up a few more possessions and hurting the opposition going the other way
4. Austin continues to show good signs, a couple more preseasons and he will be our man to take on the gorillas. Bower also continuing to look good

yeah it wasn't great...but my highlights were not for Fev, they were just how good the football was. Fev just happened to be involved in both. So was Judd.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, but i found the interview by Nathan Buckley shown at half time with Murphy, Gibbs and Kruezer online, which I think fascinating. I think this may be an less edited than what went to air as well. And unlike Bigpond video, it actually seems to work.
