The most sensible comment in 2009. Thank you!

I really hope people on this site start to understand that Setanta is not up to AFL standard - and we will not win a premiership with him in the 22. :banghead:

I admire his dedication to a new sport, but he has absolutely no idea on the football field.

We are the better team, and they are not very good. However I did not tip us, they will be fired up and I don't think we are quite there to win these kind of games yet.

I'm sad, SB. I regularly stay up at nights trying to think of ways to keep you interested.

I really hope people don't worry about posters who value his position on our list.

He isn't going anywhere this year, so if we need him to achieve our goal for the year, finals (and I'm hoping GF) well we can call on him if we want. I think that's useful till the end of the year.

I don't just want to be a breeding ground for kids of the future. I like to aim for flags every year we may win one with a bit of luck.

We've got a good list and its going to get better.

Have a look at that team, with or without Setanta, its pretty good isn't it?

But lets say against a team (Adelaide) who we play this week, whom last time we played them we didn't have any tall timber to combat them with and lost, without Setanta. Ratts wished he had Setanta then. I think he's better in 2009 than he was in 2008.

He's been picked this year again when some said it was over. So he's on the radar. Live with it.

Horses for courses, we all know that phrase, well that's the same philosophy most of his fans and Ratts adopt with him (at the very least). I like him as a player, a bit unco, and so is Bower... but these guys have that x factor you just can't describe. They seem to get out of trouble, they take the game on, and they make something happen. Definetely not boring.

Don't let that worry you.

We won 7 of the 12 games he played last season, and 3 of the other 10.

Well I hope the talls of Adelaide don't take us to the cleaners because our backs are more half back flankers than backs that can play on talls. Witout Setanta we often have to play Waite in the backline when we really need him to help out Fev up forward. The other problem is that we give Thornton the main job in defence and he his shown up too often, Thornton is better as a lose player in defence. I would have Setanta in my side, I'd like to see who we are going to play on the Saints forwards.

Without a tall/strong defender we will never win a premiership :banghead: He is our best option at the moment and it allows us to play a more attacking structure.

Well for my two bobs worth, i reckon they are out of form and we are not
far from it, just need a four quarter effort and we will get the chockies.

in fact, after further consideration, i reckon we are morals to win and will
be putting my hard earned on to cheer them home, so get ready to hand
it bloody over mr sportsbet, under 39.5 points here i come !

The extra runner will give us more advantage than throwing in a tall in case one of their resting rucks gets a few. Last year Moran nabbbed a couple but it wasnt why we lost. We fell asleep and let them get it in to 50 to easy.

If we lose and resting ruck kicks a few it will be because our team didnt play as it should IMO. Ratts shouldnt change his plans based on the fact that if we dont play well a resting ruck might kick a few goals. Too much of an easy out for the players. We need to be prooactive. Pick a good running team and back them to play well and follow the plans. Let the crows worry about where they are going to get their run from late in the game.

Go Blues!
