keeps getting a run, but you'd expect as much considering the hype surrounding this game

Nathan Thompson said on this mornings footy show that Michael Firitto suffered a bruised heel early on last year and struggled with it throughout the 2008 season and went on to say its something that does not go away over night.

We know that. We know Fev will be sore for a bit. But nothing to keep him off the park.

I didn't know that a bruised heel can hang around for such along time

I think it was Bomber Riley who said the bruising was the size of a 5 cent piece.

Im not saying this is the cause of it just asking if the extra weight he is carrying may have played a part with the injury?

My concern is if Fev has to have light weeks on the training track between rounds through out the season.

Often a bruised heel is a term used to describe Plantar Fasciitis. That is the condition Farrito had last year. It is a condition that has brought down many a player. Robert harvey was reported as jumping off a table to break the inflamed tendon that joins the Plantar to the heel. Mitch Hahn also broke his inflamed tendon in a game which caused some pain but in the end fixes the condition. Chris Johnson of Brisbane also battled with the condition in the late years of his career.

If fev has a bruised heel then he should be coming good about time for our next game. If he really has Plantar Fasciitis then he will be able to play out the season but each game will be played with some discomfort.

I have suffered both injuries and they are awful. You can read all about them on the web.

Gaining weight can trigger Plantar Fasciitis and can also be sparked by a jar to the heel.

Lets hope Fev has your standard bruised heel and that he comes good in a week.
