I can see a pattern here.

At the start of every decade (or every year that ends in zero) we've seen one of the clubs that make up the big Melbourne 4, win the premiership, and it's come around to our turn again...

1970 - Carlton
1980 - Richmond
1990 - Collingwood
2000 - Essendon*
2010 - CARLTON...

Simple as that!

Might book an overseas holiday for September 2030.

There's a lot of ifs when it comes to winning a flag, and we could be in the mix with the existing list for 2010 if...

We can develop a CHF in 2009
We Warnock fills out and Hammer steps up in 2009 and 2010 preseason
We can develop and drill all our players in a variety of masterful game plans to compete against the top 4 teams
We see continued improvement of our very very young list, especially the midfielders
We can build the stamina to compete 100% for 4 quarters
We have luck with injuries

There is no reason why the above can't happen, just by looking at the list we have, along with the calibre of offield support, which includes the intangible extra inspiration the elite training centre in October 2009 and the record supporters attending games; the impact of the latter 2 advantages should not be underestimated.

Ease up me John.

I'll take 2010, and confident on that...but I'm not playing the game after that....I'm greedy.

If we are gonna win 2010 and I reckon we should be at our peak in 2011 then what are the back to back odds...or even the 3peat?

How about the norm Smith, Brownlow and premiership trifecta.

Norm: Gibbs
Brownlow: Judd
Priemship:

Carlton: 15.9.99
Wobbles: 12.16.88

After being down at 3QTR time by 25 points.
