Happy to bet you that he won't win it.

Although I wish him luck.

Nah this is Robert Harvey we're talking about... He always looks like that. :lol:

Quote:
ROBERT Harvey pulled on a Carlton shirt for the first time on Wednesday and the former St Kilda superstar admitted it would take a little time for him to get used to the change in colour scheme.

After 21 decorated seasons with the Saints, Harvey began his tenure as a development coach with the Blues on Monday and premiership success was immediately on the agenda.

"Obviously I'm really motivated to be part of a successful club; I wasn't able to achieve that as a player so I'm hoping to push [for] that [premiership]," Harvey said.

I'd love for the guy to run out onto the ground when we win our 17th...

...and in the process give Harvey something that Shit Kilda haven't been about to give him in 20-odd years. 8)

Even David Parkin referred to himself as "that bloke from Hawthorn" in his victory speech in the Carlton Social Club on Grand Final Night 1981. :wink:

That comment was directed at Percy Jones, who said he had lost his job to ''that bloke from Hawthorn''.

Got some interesting updates on Harvs;

- Likes it at Carlton, not 100% comfortable yet but thinks he will do once he gets to know the guys there a bit better.

- Felt very strange pulling on the Carlton kit for the first time

- Felt it was good to get outside St Kilda, however St Kilda never made much of a play to keep him there (the offer to stay on in a similar role to the Carlton position was pretty average)

- Was thinking about going on again next year but got a vibe that the club felt it was best to call it a day this year. He was happy enough with the call, and respects Lyon a great deal ( :shock: ) so there was no animosity, far from it.

Not much I guess, but the best I could do...

Interesting - I was actually there that night and I heard the speech but I didnt get that inference - it sounded like a genuinley humble admission from Parkin - but hey I was young and had had a few beers by that stage :oops: - but I am also sure he used that reference against himself a few times over that period.

Its interesting how we all have different recalls of a similar event - I guess thats what makes the study of history so controversial. :) :wink:
