Drop pre-season farce, drop split round, and then we're getting close to what is right and proper. A fair competition.

If the quarters need to be reduced to, let's say, 17 minutes, do it.

It wouldn't work. Teams still have to have a preseason to be ready for the H&W season and you still have the issue of teams tanking for 25 weeks of the season.

Fairness above excuses.

And as for teams not being ready for the H&A season, using your own reasoning, if they're good enough, they'll just do fine.

Reality above fairness.

Its not even about fairness. The draw isn't ideal, but its fair enough to get by. If you're good enough you'll make it.

Who'd be interested in playing in a TC v Red and White Online forum match on the weekend of April 18/19?

The match is Sat, so what about playing on the Sunday, and maybe have a BBQ afterwards?

I'll start getting things underway with RWO if there's some interest. Pauly, Clint, I'm looking your way!

KK, would love to, but our interstate trip this year is Brisbane or Gold Coast. Not a 100% no just yet but will let you know asap.

I must be the only person in Melb that prefers Sunday games. Friday nights are a pain and always clash with other functions. Saturday I sleep in and rest up after a long hard week. Sundays are perfect .. annoyed we don't have any in Melb in the 2nd half of year.

RWO = Soft.

Might be alil easier to change our mind if we knew that RWO would turn up. (feel free to use this as ammo for them  )

I'm happy to help try and organise it. Just want some idea of interest.

If you are a supporter who travels to games from the Albury/Wodonga region this draw is an absolute shocker. The last train home is around 6pm. To see any of the night games you need to catch a midday train and would need to stay overnight (OK if you have somewhere free to stay but otherwise too expensive especially on a regular basis).

So, if you're a country member in 2009 you would get to see 3 home 'day' games (Round 15, 16 & 21). If you're prepared to pay for the day 'away' games you would see another 3 games.

This doesn't concern me directly as I live in Melbourne. But my Dad lives in the North East and travels down for each home game. He can stay with me but the many people that travel down with him may not be as fortunate. He's spoken with a number of his friends already and they're not happy. Looks like the club will lose a number of members because of this.

You can see the team is getting close to going gangbusters as all the pieces come together.

I was thinking that 2010 was a realistic timeline, with the second half of next year a possibility.

However, after seeing the draw, it seems that the second half of next season looks like being a lot of fun for all of us.. 8)
