after watching the bears game again tonight, and in particular taking notice of just how courageous Joey Anderson was in the final play of the game. I started thinking about some of the great sacrificial acts this team has copped through the year.

Joe Anderson's effort was about as brave as you get. Quite simply it was his turn and he had to go. And he did it without a second thought. I wouldn't have done it. Pure and simple. There is not a hope in hell that I would have put myself in between the ball and a rampaging Johno Brown.

It's interesting how much the media cream themselves about J. Brown running back with the flight with eyes only for the ball. He is brilliant at it and deserves the kudos. But I reckon Ando's act has been undersold a little. it was almost scoffed at on the sunday footy show (not exactly thought provoking tv) and has not even been mentioned on On The Couch tonight. I don't get it. At least Andy Maher highlighted it this morning on SEN.

Back to my original point, sacrificial acts through the year.

what does everyone rate as the best sacrificial act of the season.

the ones I can think of off the top of my head are;

Fev's 3 effort act against collingwood leading to a turnover, and handing it off to Grigga for a goal in round 4.

Grigg's time to go against Port Adelaide, diving head first into 2 oncoming Port players in the rain to tap the ball into our advantage, also leading to a goal.

Ando's game saver on Saturday night.

Juddy V Monga without taking one single short step.

I'll add a fifth option in the poll as 'other', to select but back up in a post what the 'other' is.

I reckon we are developing a great 'toughness' which probably doesn't get looked at as much as other aspects of improvement in our team this year. But in this side this year, on nearly all occasions, when your time has come, they have taken it without having to think about it.

I've gone for Anderson's effort on Saturday night, and not because it's the most recent, but for two reasons:

1. He's played his eighth game of league football on Saturday night and showed tremendous courage, for such an inexperienced player to throw himself in the path of a steam train
2. Impact on the result - probably won and saved us the game in the end, given it was Brisbane's last chance to draw the game

I loved Grigg's effort against Port, but there was still time for Port and us to score, but like Anderson's a very courageous act from an inexperienced young player.

Fev's triple effort, we've come to expect despite the resultant goal to Grigg and nail in the pies coffin that day.

Juddy V Monga - courageous and expect nothing less from the skipper, but I don't want that happening to Juddy again. He's our leader and best player and doesn't need to prove his courage.

have to agree with the Juddy V Monga, it was tough brave stuff, setting the example but in the end probably cost us. certainly wouldn't want it to happen too often. too many of those leads to a shortened career... just ask Dean Kemp.

I went Anderson, without his courageous effort i have no doubt brown would have marked it or at least won the free kick and more than likely kicked the goal. JB is a gun and probably would have nailed it.

I'm not saying Anderson's effort wasn't awesome, but for the love of all that is sacred the Fev triple effort was 1) 3 times as courageous, 2) gave Grigg his first ever goal and win at Carlton, 3) The look on Grigg's face i will never ever forget, 4) undoubtedly one of the moments that got Fev's contract signed for the next 3 years, 5) against a team that wanted to crush us into the history books for our longest ever losing streak, 6) IT WAS COLLINGWOOD!, 7) In front of a record crowd (including me )
