Couldn't find the link online, but here's a rundown of todays News Ltd article..

Quote:
Carlton coach Brett Ratten believes Chris Judd has rediscovered his trademark burst and could be poised to make a late Brownlow surge.

"We sort of looked through the game and you watch that chase, he gave Ryan Griffen 10m, 12m headstart and ran him down to touch him and force a kick out of bounds," Ratten said.

"You just think Ryan Griffen is a very quick player and Chris Judd just took that sort of gap off him in a short period of time ... he's thought for a while now he's been at 100 percent."

Ratten said the 2004 Brownlow winner could be in the frame for this year's award.

"When he does play well he virtually gets the three [votes]," Ratten said. "So if you can put in four or five games that you think he's got three votes, well he'll probably get them, he seems to always capture the umpires' eyes."

Juddy in Brownlow contention? Up until this stage I hadn't considered the possibility. If he finishes the season strongly then I'd suggest he's a real chance.

We would need to win the next 5 games (votes generally go to players on the winning side), Ablett Jr would have to remain out injured, Bartel pole poorly and Judd play outstanding. I would imagine Judd has given A LOT of people a pretty big head start, so I would be pretty surprised if he could pull it off. Top 10 would be great, top 5 OUTSTANDING but winning it unlikely ............

Don't be so sure about Ablett winning. Has missed the last 3 games already and not universally loved by the umps, so don't expect it to be a given.

Judd's going to go well in the Brownlow? In the box seat for the Chas, even? Teflon Terry will be stoked!

32 Disposals, 2 goals

A loosing game but Judd was instrumental and should poll a vote

Collingwood
26 Disposals

Doesn't look like much but he was BOG for mine. Fevola with 7 goals would probably poll the 3 votes but Judd should get 2.

Melbourne
26 Disposals, 3 goals

BOG. Hands down 3 votes.

Port Adelaide
32 Disposals

Was one of if not THE main reason we won. Kayne Cornes will poll but you would think Judd would get 2 or 3 votes for this one.

Western Bulldogs
32 Disposals

Easilly BOG. 3 Votes hands down.

He is indeed a proven performer and the umps love him.
At the moment, i see him polling about 10-12 votes for the season. We have 5 games left and Gary Ablett is injured. If Judd can string together votes in all of those games then hell yeah he's a chance.

Boomer Harvey hardly has anybody taking votes off him though so i'm guessing he'd be favourite now.

Gary Ablett has Joel Corey / Bartel / plus 3 or 4 others pinching votes from him.

Another roughy would be Brendon Fevola. He'd be similar to Judd's votes you would think with 4 dominating games that he effectivly won of his own boot.

I dont think he will win it.

But he sure will scare and make the last few games more interesting in the race

I dont think for a second he wouldnt have scored votes in the collingwood games. More so in Round 4 when he was still more injured then say Sundays efforts against the doggies, which in itself was a dominate display.

He might be up there. but may fall short. (unless the last 5 games are outstanding and ablett stays injured and plays crap and boomer breaks a leg)

Youd expect the kangas and geelong to fire from now... Judd is, Never know.

Id say Kreuzer took the 3 votes for the Port game for his ruck and last q heroics AND im a betting man.
