Was at Moorabbin. The last game of the 1978 season in front of the Animal Enclosure (see Blueseum - Denis Collins)

Hamills first game for the Saints.

Oooh yes, great shot of a bloke at PP hanging over the players race as Hamill walked off holding a #4 carlton jumper in his face.

Great shot.
and that picture is ... ?

The 1992 game when we beat them at PP is a favourite of mine, remember the roar that went up when Rhino gave us the lead in the 3rd quarter.

The 2002-07 period of games against them has been horrible, with the 90 odd point loss late 03 sticking in the mind, some of those late 03 games were so ridiculously non-competitive it defied belief. Then there is the Fev to full back game of 04 when we lost by 108 points, the Fev kicking nearly our entire score in 06.

Its payback time! I know we had it over them for over 100 years, but still, I wasnt around for all of it.

That was R21 1992. I remember going to the car at half time and we were 3 goals down. By the time I got back in the ground we were in front. 9 goal 3rd quarter.

I was at that game, one of the best 'premiership quarters' the Blues have ever produced.

Round 9 1995. Dirty old day at Waverley.

James Cook slotted our first goal in the 3rd quarter from memory.

God that was a horrible day - freezing cold and I was with a St Kilda supporter who would not drive me home until he had sung the song 3 times.

On a more positive note another game there where Kouta got the ball out of the middle and kicked a fantastic goal.

A highlight for me was a game at Waverley in the early 90's. Nearing the end of a 10 goal third quarter a pie boy walking downthe aisle screams out 'HOT PIES' and some guy replies 'Nah mate they're HOT BLUE BOYS'.

Kouta was doing the one handed action through out the 1995 season, a year prior to this game...

Great stats, darknavy. Up above is the link to the Blueseum summary page for those stats.

BUT

The biggest stat of all which should weaken our dislike of the Saints is that they saved us from the 1897, 1898 and 1899 wooden spoons!

Both games in 1989 were classics - the Rd 2 game was the one Lockett booted 10.7 to get the Saints home with the last kick of the game then in the return clash at Princes Park, Sticks booted 10 and Winmar 9 as the Blues got up by a point.

In our Premiership year of 1987 we also knocked the Saints off by a point at Princess Park with a horrible scoreline of 12.25 to I think 14.12. Mil Hanna kicked the winning goal at about the 34 minute mark whilst Rod Owen booted 7 for the Saints.

Rd 2 1985 was a big day when we beat the Saints by 140 points at Moorabbin. The Saints could only muster 3.11-29 to our 25.19-169. The Blues shared the goals around that as they seemed to do in that era.
