I can't match the stories of those who were at the game, but I am walking around feeling 10 foot tall with a massive grin on my face.

Monday's haven't felt this good for a very long time.

GO BLUES!!!

It was all your birthdays, Christmases and NYEs all rolled into one. And much, much more

Walking into the ground we passed a typically feral bunch of filth supporters having a BBQ at the back of their F350 twin cab ute (obviously stolen).

They were laughing while drinking their VBs and smoking their Winnie Blues. The kids were playing footy and life was just so grand.

On the way out was a different story indeed. 3 men sitting on the railing fence behind the stolen F350 still with VB and fag in hands, heads down muttering something about flower Judd and flower umpires   .

We got to a safe distance past these three creatures and I turned my girls around and pointed to them, gave them a quick lesson on the differences between us and them, and headed back to the car.

Hey Duke, did you notice the number of police outside after the game just sensing a boilover from the filth supporters.

Yeah, but given they all left 15 minutes before the siren, and we all stayed for another 15 minutes to sing the song 4 times, they had all crawled back into their caves by the time we got out  .

Most of them probably wanted to get ready to line up at their local Centrelink, to be first up Monday morning.

Actually, I have to tip my hat to one of them. When I was standing in line to get a kids pass for the MCC with the little uns, a colonwood supporter tapped me on the shoulder and gave me a spare ticket he had, no charge  .

Normally when that happens you expect a punch to the jaw ala didak, when I turned and saw the black and white stripes my first instincts were to duck, but this guy was okay  .

I have found him, the greatest Carlton fan I have ever seen. I was sitting in M55 near the front. A person of middle-eastern appearance. He was getting up completely randomly and absolutely going nuts in a foreign language, either Persian or Hebrew. It was absolutely hilarious. It went something like this "habretsr ratsre srahsoeoys fisher taretsn ahate fevola". all at the top of his voice. everyone in the whole crowd around us was loving it, even collingwood supporters.

when the siren went, i saw him singing the song at the top of his voice, so i screamed out "omg, he's speaking english"...everyone was in stitches. what a beautiful day.

Took my 6 year old to her first game of footy yesterday - her elder sister now a seasoned veteran.

It was simply a beautiful day, ranging from the three seats we found seven rows from the front, to the thwacks she gave me with the record wjhen i said stuff "that was out of line" (some comment about Didak and a pistol  ), to standing singing the song, again and again and again.

When we got home she told her mum she wanted to go next wek :-D

Now I have an excuse!!! (not that i ever needed one).

Oh and by the way, when they aksed who Buckley was , i said that he was a man who left brisbane to play in premierships , and that since he had left his old team had won three and his new team none. they thought that was crazy. went down a treat with the very pro blues crowd around us!!!)
