Front page of todays NT News headline story is Helen d'Amico who is now a mum and grandmother, studying at Charles Darwin Uni.

The back page headline features NTBlue's nephew, Travis Ellis, smashing the Darwin Basketball Assoc record for most points scored in a game. he scored 62, beating the previous record of 53 - and he took himself off in the 3rd quarter cos he was getting a bit tired.

Did he wrestle a croc whilst drinking bourbon cans when doing it? Otherwise I don't know how it made the back page of the NT News.

80's actually and it's a damn shame there's not more of it in my opinion...after all there's been some really boring Grand Finals that needed a bit of light hearted entertainment. Helen would probably have been the first naked woman I saw live in the flesh and at 8 years of age it was a bit of a giggle at seeing her boobs (which we'd just discovered we could spell on a calculator).

My friends and I were convinced at the time that the Flying Doormat did well to avoid getting any girl germs - and that the Dominator had definitely got them after his antics.

By the time 1988 came around I was 14 and I'll be forever thankful to the young lass who ran out on the ground to save us from the most boring Grand Final ever witnessed. I note in the article in the Hun today it cost her a grand...yet she's gone down in the history of VFL/AFL footy history as the first streaker and a part of footy folklore. Was pleasing to see she's still in the land of the living and doing well.

I remember in grade 5 I had a friend who had a video recorder - state of the art stuff, had a remote control and everything (attached to a cord that plugged into the recorder).

Anyway, his tape of the GF was extremely worn at a certain part  - he was a tigers supporter and his mum never wondered why he enjoyed watching a losing GF. I can still remember, we had just kicked a goal, ad break, and then BANG, naked woman running around on the G'. He had the pause button perfectly timed.

BetaMax advertised by Michael Pate of Matlock Police fame if I remember correctly....timing on that pause button was crucial, but the pause was pretty clear! I remember a similiar experience in my childhood

On a diff. issue I remember being shocked at how crappy the puase was on VHS machines...had scratchy lines all over the "good bits"

I reckon the Dominator might have already had a few "girl germs" by the time D'Amico showed up.

Page 5 story in todays NT News features Jimmy Jess's daughter who is in Darwin and got Helen d'Amico to sign a copy of the streaking photo. Helen obliged by signing accross her bare backside.

My old man used the share farm pigs with Jim. Good bloke. Played a bit of footy for St Arnaud over the years before Richmond.
